Katy Perry Vs. Taylor Swift: Singers Avoid Each Other At 2015 Grammys

Katy Perry and Taylor Swift narrowly missed each other at the Grammy Awards on Sunday night. Despite a report on the Inquisitr saying the singers would sit near each other, organizers kept Katy and Taylor away from each other at the ceremony.

An insider told Us Weekly that Grammys organizers were working hard to make sure that Perry, 30, and Swift, 25, didn’t have an awkward run-in with each other. They didn’t want the dueling divas to fight or even steal mean glances at each other. The source also revealed that the Grammy Awards were so well organized, that celebrities that didn’t get along were able to avoid each other from the moment they hit the red carpet to the time they left.

“The organizers are doing their best to make sure certain people sit as far away from each other as possible. They are also making sure that those who are feuding or dislike each other don’t cross paths in rehearsals — which makes for a very complicated rehearsal schedule over the weekend!”

The source also told the Mirror how it’s been a “nightmare” for organizers to keep Katy and Taylor apart. The job was obviously more difficult than it sounds.

“It’s been a nightmare co-ordinating everything so Katy and Taylor don’t cross paths at all. That means that the seating plan, backstage areas and even the walk up to the stage at all times need to keep the girls well apart. They don’t want this year’s Grammys to be remembered as the time the girls had a massive run-in.”

Grammy organizers worked tirelessly for five days to keep Swift on the “opposite sides of the audience” away from Perry and boyfriend John Mayer. Swift has been reportedly feuding with Perry since last year. The “Blank Space” singer also reportedly had problems with Mayer, who she dated for several months before breaking up with him in 2010.

This is good news for Taylor though. The singer was allegedly “anxious” about having an “awkward bump-in” with both Katy and John, according to a report on Hollywood Life. John already joked on The Late Late Show that he would be doing what he does best – avoiding Taylor.

Perry and Swift didn’t even mention each other on stage at the Grammys. Swift was planning to get her revenge on Perry, but now wants to do so subtly in a music video. The singer didn’t even perform at the Grammy Awards, as previously reported. As for Perry, she focused on bringing awareness to domestic violence during her performance of “By the Grace of God.”

Katy Perry and Taylor Swift have been the latest singers to have “Bad Blood” between them. The two have been feuding since three of Taylor’s dancers left the Red tour to join Katy’s Prismatic World tour. Taylor was reportedly “betrayed” because she’s close to her dancers. The dancers had worked with Katy first, but once Katy’s tour ended, they signed on to join Taylor’s tour.
