Five Killed, Two Children Wounded, In Domestic Dispute In Georgia [Breaking]
A gunman opened fire at a house in Douglasville, Georgia, west of Atlanta, killing four people, including relatives, before turning the gun and killing himself. He also wounded two children. Neither the names of the shooter nor of the victims have been released yet, according to Yahoo! News on February 7. The children were being treated at local hospitals.
Lieutenant Glenn Daniel of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office told AFP the details of the case.
“It was a domestic situation. I have five including the shooter that are deceased. The shooter is deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.”
The shooting victims ranged from seven-years-old to adult, and the shooter was a man, he added. The exact ages, names, and gender of each victim was not yet disclosed, because relatives have not yet all been notified. Also, the relationships between all of the individuals also has not yet been released, according to ChannelNews Asia on February 7.
Police have begun an investigation.
There are many domestic disputes that end in fatalities. This one apparently was not an accident. The Inquisitr reported recently on January 11 on another shooting that may have been an accident.
“A soldier at Fort Bragg in Fayetteville, North Carolina, tried to bring his wife a surprise breakfast in bed Friday morning, but as his reward for the romantic gesture, he found himself in the hospital with a gunshot wound to the chest. Police believe the shooting was simply a mistake, but they continue to investigate the circumstances of the shooting.”
