NHL Trade Rumors: Buffalo Sabres Working On Deal To Send Tyler Myers To Anaheim Ducks
The NHL trade rumors are heating up as the trade deadline grows closer, with reports indicating that the Buffalo Sabres are working on a deal to send towering defenseman Tyler Myers to the Anaheim Ducks.
For the past several weeks, rumors have circulated that the Sabres and Ducks were discussing a possible deal. The deal seems to make sense for the Sabres, who are buried at the bottom of the NHL and have been in a two-year bid to sell off all their viable assets to set up for a rebuild that will hopefully center around either Connor McDavid or Jack Eichel.
Talks intensified between Ducks and Sabres on Tyler Myers. Other teams have interest in Myers. Can he be traded? Its a real possibility.

The Sabres already have three picks in the first round of the NHL draft later this year, and could be looking to either add more picks or some young talent — or both. The trade would also give a fresh start for Myers, who won the Calder Trophy his first year in the league but since then has struggled with the Sabres.
If the NHL trade rumor is true, it would also be a big boost to Anaheim’s Stanley Cup hopes. The team leads the league with 74 points but has some weaknesses on defense.
Ducks general manager Bob Murray has also openly wondered whether his team is strong enough on the blue line to win the Cup.
“You watch the Kings, for example, and you watch how Drew Doughty has emerged as a superstar,” Murray said last summer. “Do we have a defenseman who can be that way? When we won the Stanley Cup, we had [Niedermayer and Pronger].
“That’s in the back of my mind all the time. Where is that guy, can you find that guy, and can you afford that guy?”
Tyler Myers is signed through 2018-19, and has a cap hit of $5.5 million.
Though the reports are growing, this is not the first time that NHL trade rumors have centered on Tyler Myers. Earlier this season there were reports that the Sabres were close to trading Myers, with the Red Wings and Ducks listed as most likely trade partners.
