Has Ellen DeGeneres Become Most Powerful Woman In Media? Justin Bieber And ‘Hot 100’ Sophia Grace Think So [Video]
Ellen DeGeneres once was a stand-up comedienne, limiting her influence to making a small audience laugh. But since her syndicated The Ellen DeGeneres Show began in 2003, she’s become known as an Oprah-Winfrey-style influence who can make careers and give a boost to careers as well. And for an example, consider Justin Bieber, reported E News.
Justin joined Ellen for her birthday show, and then appeared again only eight days later. The 57-year-old talk show host explained what had happened behind the scenes.
“So, Justin was here for my birthday show, and you said on the show that you were nervous. We talked later that night. You called and said you were nervous and then you posted that night a video…Tell me about that and tell me why you were so nervous and why you posted that.”
Bieber revealed that he had chosen Ellen’s show and Ellen herself as a way to reveal how he really feels about his past.
“I did a lot of things over the past few years that I’m not proud of.”
DeGeneres then took on the role of mentor in helping Justin to vocalize his feelings and express his wishes for how he wants to change in the future.
“I understand that and I think people appreciate that, too,” she reassured the young pop star. “I think it’s hard for people to understand.”
Referring to her wife Portia De Rossi, Ellen revealed that Portia had commented about how the public views celebrities.
“People think that all celebrities are never nervous, that we’re just comfortable. It’s not true,” said Ellen.

Using the reminder as a springboard, Bieber leaped into a confession about how he feels when he’s criticized and how he wants to change in the future.
“People often forget that, even with their comments and stuff, they think it doesn’t get to me. But it gets to me. Things that people say bother me and I gotta be strong enough to just keep it pushing. That’s why I just wanted to make a video to just let people know that I’m human. I love people. I love love. I’m passionate about things and I’m passionate about being better and growing, so I think that this is going to be an awesome chapter in my life and I’m so glad that I have you guys supporting me.”
And it’s not just in giving celebrities such as Justin Bieber a chance to redeem themselves. Ellen also has created stars on her show. And some of them, such as Sophia Grace and Rosie, are remarkably young.
Now, at 11 years old, Sophia Grace has debuted on the Hot 100 with her “Best Friends” tracks, reported Billboard.
The British lass initially attracted attention when she sang “SuperBass” with her cousin Rosie in a YouTube video that went viral (it’s now attracted 47 million global views). Ellen brought the delightful duo to her show to perform the song with Nicki Minaj.

After that initial appearance, DeGeneres responded to the viral videos by inviting Sophia Grace and Rosie to appear at various award ceremonies as her guest and host tea parties to chat with a wide range of celebrities, from Russell Brand to…(wait for it) Justin Bieber himself.
Watch the Bieb charm the little girls to see how Ellen influences and changes lives.
And as the Inquisitr reported, Ellen also has been open about various aspects of her personal life. She’s become one of the most influential vegans.
Her wife Portia has joined her in her vegan lifestyle, Ellen told People. And that includes food-focused holidays such as Thanksgiving.
“It doesn’t make [Thanksgiving] harder at all. It makes it easier on the turkeys, too. They get to live,” declared Ellen.
