Gwen Stefani Says Her Marriage To Gavin Rossdale Is A ‘Miracle’
Though Gwen Stefani has been in the spotlight for over 20 years, she is still surprised by her fame and the support of her fans — and that she married someone as good looking as Gavin Rossdale. Stefani spoke with Cosmopolitan as their March cover girl and revealed her thoughts on marriage and her successful career.
Cosmopolitan released a sneak peak of its interview with Gwen on Tuesday. Stefani rocks her famously toned body and unique style in the released images. However, it is her answers to questions about love and fame that make Gwen relatable.
When asked about her husband Rossdale, who is on tour with his band Bush, Gwen opened up that she is surprised by her decade-long marriage.
“We go through so much together — it’s a miracle that we could stay together this long.”
Stefani feels like the girl next door who got lucky with someone like Gavin.
“I never really saw myself landing a guy that hot. I don’t know if I was a nerd in high school, but I definitely wasn’t the super-cute cheerleader so I never saw myself getting somebody like that. But I do think he’s quite handsome. It’s not the most important thing about him, but it is nice… and he makes really cute babies!”
Gwen spoke out about being a woman in a serious relationship.
“It’s good to have those days when we both do our own things. I think that’s what keeps relationships going, when both people can be themselves and have their own individuality. That’s especially important for women — it’s hard to find time for yourself.”
The success of No Doubt and her independent musical endeavors still surprises Stefani, who was told by her parents that music was only a hobby and would never get her anywhere.
“It still shocks me that people care about me. I trip out about it all the time. It’s mind-blowing! For me, I’ve never gotten to a point where I felt, ‘Okay, I’ve made it, I’m number one!’ It’s an amazing feeling to hit number one, but it’s not that different a feeling from not being number one. It’s really about the journey—that’s where the joy comes. It’s not about the end result, because there isn’t really ever an end.”
Both Stefani and Rossdale have been busy lately. Gwen and Gavin have three children as well as their careers. Stefani can also be seen as a judge in this season of NBC’s The Voice, as covered by the Inquisitr.
Working with your husband can be stressful. According to Fox 411, Gwen was nervous about working with her husband, who acts as one of the advisers on the show. Gwen said that she was worried they would fight over what advice to give to contestants. However, fortunately for Stefani, her worries never came true.
