Watch Justin Bieber Tell A Teen Burns Survivor ‘You Inspire Me’ [Video]
It’s Justin Bieber day on the small screen today as he is seen on The Doctors (February 5) surprising a teen survivor of a home explosion with flowers and encouraging words.
Justin’s spot on the medical show was filmed last month, the same day he shot his first TV interview on Ellen after a turbulent year-plus step away from his career.
Last November, Kilee Brookbank, 16, from Brown County, Ohio, suffered burns to over 45 percent of her body after she lit a candle to dispel an odor, unwittingly igniting a gas home explosion that ripped through her family’s home.
Recovering from the loss of her eyebrows, eyelashes, and some fingertips, Kilee’s will to survive and upbeat attitude throughout multiple skin grafts and painful treatments inspired those around her. And, as it turns out, her favorite singer is Justin Bieber.
After the teen’s journey was explained to The Doctors studio audience, Kilee was played a video with a message from the Biebs.
“I just wanted to say my prayers go out to you and your family and get well soon,” Justin said in the short clip.
But, Kilee was surprised in person too. After Justin’s clip was shown, one doctor told her. “It makes you realize that everyone is rooting for you and people you would never expect to care about you.”
At that point, unbeknownst to Kilee — who was sitting on a sofa with the doctors facing the audience — a certain young superstar bearing flowers was creeping on set. Justin is seen silently shushing them just before the jig was up.
The pop star hugged Kilee from behind, then walked over to sit down next to her.
“First of all I just wanted to say how proud I am of you,” Justin told her, adding, “I think that the message I want to get out there, is that you inspire us so much.”
He then told the shocked, but clearly delighted, teen. “I think you inspire everybody in this audience, everybody across the world.”
Justin continued, “And I just wanted to come here… [I] couldn’t just do a video. I had to… actually come and see… you’re in L.A. right? That’s it, that’s all there is.”
The smile on Kilee’s face after the singer’s entrance and words is priceless.

Over at Kilee’s Twitter, evidence of the Biebs’ effect can be seen. The teen has a photo of herself with the singer as her profile snap.
The “Confident” star can also been in videos airing on Ellen today. In one clip, in which he explain his recent confessional video, Justin admits, “I did a lot of things over the past few years that I’m not proud of.”
He also revealed, “People often forget that, even with their comments and stuff they think it doesn’t get to me. But, it gets to me. You know, things that people say bother me, and I gotta be strong enough to just keep it pushing. That’s why I just wanted to make a video to just let people know that I’m human.”
He added, “I’m passionate about being better and growing, so I think that this is going to be an awesome chapter in my life and I’m so glad that I have you guys supporting me. ”
