Bruce Jenner’s Mother, Esther Jenner, Confirms His Transgender TV Series: Are The Kardashians Being Genuine?
Bruce Jenner’s mother, Esther Jenner, is confirming rumors that her son plans on becoming a woman. In addition, Bruce is claiming he plans on launching a new transgender TV series.
In a related report by the Inquisitr, some say that going public with gender identity can be a “dangerous game,” since it is uncertain how friends and family — never mind the media — will react.
Speaking to the media, Bruce Jenner’s mother also says she just learned about the truth from her son for the very first time recently.
“I just learned about [his transition]. Bruce filled me in, and we had a very long, long, long talk about it… I have never been more proud of Bruce for who he is, himself as a father, as an Olympian, a wonderful public speaker. He instills enthusiasm in people. He’s gifted. I support him whole-heartedly. I just love him like I always have.”
The only thing that irks Bruce Jenner’s mother is the long hair. Esther says she “hates” the new look, claiming it’s “ugly,” “ridiculous,” and even though he’s now 65 years old, it makes him look like a “teenage rebel.”
Esther Jenner says her 1976 Olympic decathlon gold medal winning son will share his beliefs and experience on a special TV documentary. Keeping Up With The Kardashians Season 10 is expected to show how Bruce’s family reacted to the announcement. Six of the children have been described as supportive of his planned transgender transition, but ex-wife Kris Kardashian allegedly “freaked out.” Kim Kardashian is also reportedly not as supportive as the others.
The Orlando Sentinel also notes the timing of the announcement and wonders if Bruce Jenner’s transgender transition is completely legit. After all, it’s being said the “journey will also be chronicled in his very own unscripted E! series.” That makes some wonder if he’s “becoming a woman” to boost the Keeping Up With The Kardashians ratings.
“The Post reports that the interview will air in May, a major ratings month. So there’s the matter of shrewd timing: Jenner and ABC both want to get maximum impact with the interview. Of course, he could sit down right now and tell his story, but he has that E! series to promote. The way the Kardashians and Jenner have gone about getting attention through the years often raises questions about their methods: Are they being genuine?”
According to Twin Cities, Jenner is also expected to open up about his transgender transition in an upcoming interview with Diane Sawyer.
What do you think about Bruce Jenner’s mother’s comments? Do you think the transgender announcement is “genuine”?
