Bobbi Kristina Update: Whitney Houston’s Daughter ‘Drowning’ Follows Career Crisis, Celebs Tweet Prayers [Video]

Bobbi Kristina Brown, daughter of Whitney Houston, is fighting for her life after an event that eerily resembled her mother’s fatal drowning. Just like her mother, Bobbi was discovered lying with her face down in a bathtub just before the Grammy Awards, reported the Associated Press via Yahoo.

At 21, Bobbi became the subject of a police call after officers received a report of a drowning, according to the Roswell, Georgia, incident report. Following false reports that she had already died, the Houston family issued a statement.

“Bobbi Kristina is fighting for her life and is surrounded by immediate family. We are asking you to honor our request for privacy during this difficult time. Thank you for your prayers, well wishes, and we greatly appreciate your continued support.”

As family, friends, and industry insiders sought to find a reason for what appeared to be a suicide attempt, many turned to analyze her last tweet. That post showed she had attempted to make it as an entertainer and expressed her frustration at lack of progress.

Now Bobbi’s family stay by her side in a Georgia hospital, praying that she can fight a bigger battle than achieving career aspirations, reported People.

But since she was discovered unconscious in that bathtub on Saturday, a family source reveals that Bobbi Kristina has not responded. The family, however, still has hope.

“The swelling [in her brain] has gone down. The doctor says that that by itself isn’t the smoking gun that she’s getting better, but it’s still a good sign. But she’s still not reacting.”

Lying in bed in an intensive care unit, Bobbi Kristina receives visits throughout the day from family members. They keep hoping that somewhere, somehow, inside her brain, she will hear them and overcome the odds.

“If she’s in there somewhere, we want her to hear us,” declared a family member. “We keep it positive. We tell her that God loves her, that we love her. That America is praying for her and that everyone loves her.”

Joining in those positive prayers and expressions of hope are many celebrities, including Missy Elliott in the midst of her Super Bowl preparation as the Inquisitr reported.

In addition to Missy, Lady Gaga and La Toya Jackson offered their prayers via Twitter, noted E News.
