Bobbi Kristina Still Unresponsive? Bobby Brown Asks For ‘Love And Support’ For His Daughter
A day after being found face down in a bathtub in her home, Bobbi Kristina Brown, daughter of singers Bobby Brown and the late Whitney Houston, is reportedly still unresponsive.
Since the news broke of Bobbi Kristina being rushed to the hospital on Saturday, there have been conflicting reports regarding her condition. Multiple sites, including TMZ, reported that the troubled 21-year-old had been placed in a medically induced coma, while others reported she was in stable condition. However, it is all speculation — hospital officials and the family have been tight-lipped regarding Bobbi, and it is still unsure what her condition is.
According to E! News, Bobbi Kristina’s father, Bobby Brown, spoke out publicly concerning his daughter for the first time on Sunday. In a statement, Brown said, “Privacy is requested in this matter.”
“Please allow for my family to deal with this matter and give my daughter the love and support she needs at this time.”
The Inquisitr reported Saturday that Bobbi Kristina was found unresponsive in a bathtub her Roswell, Georgia home by her husband, Nick Gordon, and a friend. Gordon and the friend began CPR and continued until help arrived, and Bobbi Kristina’s breathing was eventually restored.
Brown’s highly publicized past struggle with drugs was suspected by many to be the cause of this incident, but TMZ reports that a search by police of her home failed to turn up any drugs.
Bobbi Kristina vowed a few months ago that she was off drugs and planned to stay off of them — and friends and family confirmed that.
A cousin, YF Kennedy, told E! News that the family is still unaware of what happened and why she was found in such a state, but he was confident it was not due to drugs.
“Krissi doesn’t do drugs,” he said. “She hasn’t been drinking or doing drugs and she’s cut down on cigarettes. She’s been trying to get her music together and keep her voice clean. Her voice is so beautiful.”
Kennedy also expressed concern for Bobbi’s emotional state, saying she was having a hard time with the upcoming anniversary of her mother’s death. Whitney Houston was found dead of heart failure reportedly caused by a cocaine overdose in a bathtub at the Beverly Hilton on February 11, 2012.
“She’s still been going through the grieving stages but is trying to keep her spirits up,” he said. “She’s been going to the gym every day with her husband and trying to be happy. She swims a lot.. It’s a rough time lately with the anniversary,” he continued. “So this is a blow to the family.”
