Snickers ‘Brady Bunch’ Super Bowl Commercials Go Viral On YouTube: Danny ‘Machete’ Trejo Plays Marcia Brady With Football-Nose And Brushed Hair [Videos]
As more Super Bowl commercials hit YouTube, like this SNICKERS – “The Brady Bunch” ad that’s received more than 1.6 million views on YouTube in the 24 hours since it was uploaded on the SnickersBrand YouTube Channel, the viewership of funny videos like those have hit the proverbial roof.
“In this special episode, we find out what happens to Marcia and Jan when they’re hungry.”
Well, it seems Marcia turns into Danny Trejo — perhaps best known for his role on Sons of Anarchy and as Machete — in a very different role that Brady Bunch fans will remember — the one where Marcia Brady gets clobbered in the nose with a football thrown by her brother Peter before an important dance. The other viral video with Machete as Marcia Brady hilariously features Machete angrily brushing his hair more than 100 times — called SNICKERS® – “Super Bowl Teaser” — and telling Carol Brady to “Shut up, Mom!” It’s something Marcia would’ve never said to her mother from those iconic Brady Bunch scenes that probably had girls all over the nation counting hair brushing strokes each day. That Brady Bunch Super Bowl ad is up to nearly 3 million views.
As far as Jan Brady’s characterization, Steve Buscemi does a great job playing Jan Brady in the new Snickers Super Bowl ad, so says Time. The publication even adds the famous “George Glass” made-up character to the mix, bringing back Jan’s non-existent boyfriend. Buscemi does the famous “Marcia, Marcia, Marcia” line that Jan uttered when she was fed up with all of the attention going to her older sister, Marcia Brady, of course.
Either way, all of this attention paid to the most recent Snickers ads on YouTube proves the campaign, “You’re Not You When You’re Hungry,” is a continued success with viewers. The full Snickers 30-second commercial — at least the one with the manic hair brushing — is scheduled to air during the first quarter of Super Bowl XLIX on February 1.
According to ABC News, Trejo said it was a special day when he got a call to play Marcia Brady from the Brady Bunch.
“It’s not every day that my agent calls and says I’ve been asked to play Marcia Brady. But as soon as I found out it was for Snickers, I knew it would be a blast and something fans are going to appreciate.”
As reported by the Inquisitr, another viral ad campaign features a puppy getting saved by Clydesdales in the 2015 Budweiser Super Bowl commercial.
