Taylor Swift Sued By Child Porn Felon For Stealing ‘1989’: ‘The Red Dragon Will Consume Us All’
Taylor Swift possess the kind of mega-celebrity that constantly puts her in the position of batting off rumors. Most are of the typical celebrity nude photo hack variety that she was entangled in Tuesday, but others are so bizarrely twisted, you have to wonder if Taylor is more annoyed or amused at them.
One such instance is a $100 million lawsuit filed against Swift by Jose Hilario — a felon currently serving a 10-year sentence for child pornography charges he was arrested for in 2008, only days after he claims to have met with Taylor at a local mall where they “hugged and kissed,” according to documents acquired by Radar.
Hilario claims that a strange woman e-mailed him on January 22, 2008, telling him that she was “lonely and sad” and “needed someone to talk with.” When Jose met with her on Skype, he was shocked to see that the woman was actually Swift. Taylor and the current felon struck up a lovely friendship, according to Hilario, and decided to meet at Providence Place Mall in Rhode Island on April 13, 2008. Days later, Jose was arrested on child pornography charges — to which he pled guilty.
Hilario is requesting the large sum of money from Swift to help him with legal costs that he has incurred — and will continue to incur — with his lawsuit against Taylor, despite the fact that he says he cannot even afford to make copies of his deposition. Hilario, however, believes that Swift will save him from his troubles in the end.
“I know for a fact that the defendant have [sic] a good heart and that she will come back to her senses and not forget her promise that she made to me… [Taylor] should remember what I told in April 13, 2008, quote, ‘When you feel like you are trap [sic] with no way out and your memory of me fades… think of the color yellow and remember your friend who will protect you from the unknowns of the world.'”
Jose even says that Swift’s real life actions reflect the veracity of his claims. He says that Taylor has “moved to Rhode Island near the beach, as she promised me she would, to await my return from federal prison.” While it is true that Swift does own a $17 million home on the Rhode Island coast, the rest of Hilario’s letter takes an even deeper turn toward the absurd when he not only claims that Taylor stole his own life as direct inspiration for her album 1989, but that that Russia is spying on them — something that can be helped if Swift introduces him to Miley Cyrus.
“I would like to tell the defendant Taylor Allison Swift [that] my heart hurts, I have suffered so much humiliation already. It is too late for egos or pride… The red dragon will consume us all unless we stop it! Is this what you want, or do you want me to help you? This is a S.O.S., distress call, THE RED DRAGON is watching our every move, yes RUSSIA! Including the girl I need to meet with your help Miley Cyrus… Taylor Allison Swift, when you feel weak, read Psalm 90 — call me crazy but keep your eyes open. [sic]”
Taylor Swift has not yet commented on the case.
