WWE News: Backstage Update On Undertaker’s Status For ‘WrestleMania 31’ Clearer And Rumored Card

Royal Rumble is now a thing of the past and that has made the card for WrestleMania 31 a little clearer as to what may or may not take place. One of the biggest questions still remains though – will The Undertaker be there? Well, his status for the big event is rounding a corner and heading in one direction, and it will please the fans.

According to WrestleZone , the overall feeling backstage is that Undertaker will indeed be appearing in a match at WrestleMania 31 .

WWE reportedly already knows his status, but fans won’t actually know it until a few weeks from now. It likely won’t be until after Fast Lane on February 22 that Undertaker reappears on television. This way, he won’t have to be on television much, and there will be a month to build up a program.

That program is still expected to be with Bray Wyatt.

Wyatt has been booked extremely strong since early December with multiple clean victories over Dean Ambrose. Wyatt had a really good showing in the Royal Rumble with a long stay and numerous eliminations including that of Daniel Bryan .

Per Wrestling Inc. , Jim Ross recently said that Wyatt’s full potential has still not yet been tapped, and he needs a strong and established wrestler to bring that out in him. That’s where the Undertaker comes in, and why this match would be perfect.

As for the rest of the WrestleMania 31 card, it’s starting to shape up nicely as well.

Triple H has now called out Sting to appear at Fast Lane , and that sets up their match at the big event which will be Sting’s first time wrestling in a WWE ring. The John Cena and Rusev feud is expected to continue through to WrestleMania 31 as well.

With Randy Orton’s return coming up at any time, it is likely that he will go into a feud with Seth Rollins. A lot of people also forget that Rollins still has the Money In The Bank briefcase too, but he probably won’t use it until after WrestleMania 31 .

Roman Reigns will take on Brock Lesnar for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 31 as it is not expected for the current champ to defend at Fast Lane .

One of the biggest things right now is that the fans want to know what will Daniel Bryan do at the big event. Rumors currently have him taking on Sheamus, who will soon return to WWE from injury. This is the match that was set to take place last year until the WWE Universe complained enough to get him added to the WWE Championship match.

With that, this is how the card is shaping up:

  • WWE Title: Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar
  • Sting vs. Triple H – Possible stipulation match
  • John Cena vs. Rusev
  • Randy Orton vs. Seth Rollins
  • Sheamus vs. Daniel Bryan
  • Tag Team Championship Match
  • Divas Match

There is time to change this, but if it doesn’t, fans won’t be very happy with Bryan having such a small role.

WrestleMania 31 looks to be about halfway set in stone, but there are a couple of big questions marks still – Daniel Bryan’s role, the fans reaction to Roman Reigns, and the Undertaker appearing or not appearing. Two months is a long time and the only confirmed match is the main event, but there are changes that may still occur. After all, who knows what evil lurks in the demonic mind of Vince McMahon?
