Donald Trump Slammed By Media For 2016 Presidential Run Hints
Will Donald Trump run in 2016? Trump has started to hint at a possible 2016 presidential run, and his hints are stirring up controversy. People are buzzing about his possible run for office on social media, and his comments are receiving strong reactions from those in the media.
After he hinted at a possible run for office in Iowa on Saturday, his comments slamming Mitt Romney, Barack Obama, and Jeb Bush made headlines. Trump believes he could have beat Obama in the last election, according to a report previously shared by the Inquisitr.
As for Mitt Romney, Donald slammed the 2012 candidate saying that he choked. He “ran and failed” in an election that Republicans could have won.
However, Donald Trump is known for announcing his interest, teasing a possible run for office, and not following through with it. Trump did this in both 2008 and 2012.
On Monday, Karl Rove spoke on Fox News and slammed Trump. He called out Trump for his comments against Romney specifically, according to Mediaite.
“I love Mitt Romney being lectured by Donald Trump on choking. Trump is the guy who constantly chokes on the idea of becoming a candidate. He says he’s gonna run and then, like in 2012, goes out and gives a lousy speech in Las Vegas and ultimately decides his TV show is more important than his presidential campaign.”
This was not the only dig that Donald Trump received in the media after teasing those in Iowa that he was thinking about running for office in 2016. According to another Mediaite report, Jonah Goldberg had some harsh words for Trump when he appeared on Fox News Channel’s Media Buzz on Sunday morning.
The topic of Sarah Palin and Donald Trump’s interest in running for office caused a heated debate during the broadcast, and Goldberg shared his thoughts on Trump’s latest comments.
“Donald Trump has a long record of clownishly pretending he’s going to run for president, and people take him seriously — including a lot of people at this network, which drives me crazy. I think Donald Trump is a bane of humanity … that’s not Sarah Palin’s game.”
Trump did reiterate his comments about a potential presidential run when he called in and spoke on Fox & Friends on Monday morning. He even teased some of his plans if he did manage to run and the people elected him to the office.
“People are pouring across our borders, which is horrible. We have to build a wall. Who would — look, I build some of the greatest buildings in the world. Building a wall for me is easy. And it would be a wall. It would be a real wall. Not a wall that people walk over.”
During his speech in Iowa, he spoke about the immigration problems facing this country, and he took aim at Bush with his remarks. Trump does not want to see another Bush in the oval office. His main argument against Jeb Bush is the Florida Governor’s thoughts on immigration, according to CBS News.
“Half of these people are criminals. They’re coming for a lot of other reasons, and it’s not love.”
Donald Trump’s comments are stirring up things on social media as well. People are talking about his potential run on Twitter.
