Peta Murgatroyd And Maksim Chmerkovskiy Status: ‘DWTS’ Pros Said To Be ‘Spending Time Together’
Dancing With the Stars fans have been buzzing about what may be another round of romance between Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd. There have been suspicions based on social media posts over the past month or two, but seeing Maks and Peta together in New York recently cranked things up a notch. What’s the scoop about where things stand between DWTS pros Peta and Maks at this point?
As Dancing With the Stars fans know, Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd dated for about 10 months back in 2012 into early 2013. When they split, insiders said he just wasn’t feeling it any longer, and he quickly moved on to date Kate Upton for about six months. Peta hasn’t publicly been in another romance since then, though many suspect that Peta and former DWTS partner James Maslow got a bit more than friendly once their season together wrapped.
Many DWTS fans have been determined to see Maksim date Meryl Davis, his partner during his last Dancing With the Stars season, but that doesn’t seem to have ever transpired. There were rumors he was perhaps dating Jennifer Lopez for a bit too, though most figured that was more public relations work then true romance.
Now it would appear that Peta and Maks may be rekindling their romance. According to Us Weekly, they’ve been spending time together, which fans have already figured out, though one source says they aren’t necessarily exactly back together. The site shares that they do seem to be working on quietly rekindling their romance, however.
Fans have been speculating about the two being back together for a bit, but photographers snapping shots of Maksim and Peta together recently in New York definitely sparked fresh buzz. So far, the two haven’t said anything via social media to dispute the speculation that they’re dating again, though neither is typically all that public about their love lives as it is.
Another source seemingly indicated to Us that Murgatroyd was a bit wary of giving things another go with Maks, given how rough things were when the two split in early 2013. Supposedly, however, he’s been working hard to show her that he’s changed and is a good guy. It would appear that she’s up for giving him the benefit of the doubt.
Chmerkovskiy has said in past interviews that he’s ready to settle down and he’s looking to start a family, and there are those DWTS fans who think that Maks and Peta could be meant for one another. Fans will certainly be curious to see if the two continue to be spotted together and mention one another via social media, which is something Murgatroyd has been doing lately.
Maks and Peta spent Christmas Eve and Christmas Day together, as well as his birthday. Murgatroyd even tweeted recently that she knows she’s been off the radar a bit lately, but she’s been working on great projects in both New York and Los Angeles. From the looks of things, spending time with Maks has been part of the routine during this off-season as well.
Will one of those projects Peta is working on include Season 20 of Dancing With the Stars? While Chmerkovskiy has indicated he’s done dancing with the show, most would expect that Murgatroyd will return. However, there have been some shake-ups with the pro slate already for this anniversary season, and nothing seems confirmed at this point regarding Peta’s potential return.
