Rihanna ‘FourFiveSeconds’ Kanye West And Paul McCartney Duet Is An iTunes Hit
One has to give a lot of credit to Rihanna, who is still ruling the music scene after almost ten years. This weekend, she released the song “FourFiveSeconds” featuring Kanye West and Paul McCartney. According to Kworb, which tracks iTunes sales in real time, Rihanna‘s new song is already number four and climbing at a very fast rate.
“FourFiveSeconds” is expected to be number one by Monday. This is an impressive feat since new songs usually don’t show much activity during the weekend. Record labels usually release new songs on Monday or Tuesday. In addition to great sales, Rihanna’s “FourFiveSeconds” is getting some good reviews. Billboard, who generally likes the song, notes that “FourFiveSeconds” is different from Rihanna’s previous hits.
“The song, off her forthcoming eighth studio album, is a departure from 2012’s Unaplogetic. A plucky acoustic guitar complements Rihanna’s vocals. ‘I think I’ve had enough/ Might get a little drunk/ I say what’s on my mind/ I might do a little time,’ she sings on the opening lines of the track. ‘Cause all of my kindness/ Is taken for weakness.'”
“FourFiveSeconds” has received a mostly positive response from Twitter.

The positive response to “FourFiveSeconds” is not only good for Rihanna, but Kanye West and Paul McCartney as well. Their recent duet “Only One” has been a huge flop that has not even charted in the top 30 on Billboard’s Hot 100. This week, “Only One” falls to No. 85. Despite the poor performance of the song, Kanye West surprised the industry by appearing at the iHeart Media Music Summit in Burbank, according to Entertainmentwise.
“At the iHeart Media event he revealed to fans a little more behind the track [Only One]. West, who was introduced as a surprise attendee at the iHeart Radio Theatre by Def Jam CEO Steve Bartels, said the track came about when the pair were freestyling together in the studio and sounds like he was pretty impressed with the Beatles icon.”
Rihanna has collaborated with Kanye West before on hits such as “All of the Lights.” Rihanna is certainly in a better place than Kanye West, whose last album Yeezus was widely seen as a commercial disappointment. Rihanna’s 2012 album Unapologetic was a huge worldwide hit that produced the number one hit “Diamonds.”
