Jermaine Dupri Forced To Pay Ridiculously Expensive IRS Penalties
Singer Jermaine Dupri has learned a very important and simple lesson, pay your taxes or you could end up with a tax bill twice as high as you originally owed.
According to documents filed in the state of Georgia Dupri was forced to pay $493,818.75 in taxes on an original bill of just $254,782.64. The penalties were added after the singer failed to file a 2007 tax return.
Jermaine Dupri did pay off the full bill but here’s a breakdown of his extra costs:
Interest — $91,721.75
Penalty — $64,969.57
Collection fee — $82,294.79
Costs — $50
I think it’s safe to say that in Jermaine Dupri’s case he’s thinking “lesson learned.”
