Black Democrat Sheriff To Al Sharpton: ‘Go Back To The Gutter You Came From’
Al Sharpton should probably consider never making an appearance in Milwaukee County.
The sheriff there — David Clarke, a black Democrat — believes the civil rights figure is a “charlatan” and should “go back to the gutter he came from,” according to a recent interview with Fox & Friends.
The discussion centered on Officer Darren Wilson being exonerated by the Justice Department for his role in the shooting of teen robbery suspect Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, last year.
Clarke feels that the Justice Department’s investigation proved Wilson’s innocence once and for all and that the Ferguson, Missouri, grand jury “got it right.”
But his criticisms of Holder, Al Sharpton, and even President Obama, didn’t end there.
“They knew this from the beginning. This whole thing was premised on a lie — this ‘hands up, don’t shoot,’ this ‘Black Lives Matter’ — the facts are the facts, I don’t care who looks at them. They could have the world court look at it if they want but the facts remain the same. The grand jury in Ferguson, Missouri, got it right. Officer Wilson has been exonerated. The thing I want to know is how does he go and get his reputation back? Where does he go to get his reputation back? How do we put that toothpaste back in the tube?”
Before moving on to Sharpton, Clarke lambasted Attorney General Eric Holder for “race-bating” rioters in Ferguson, pointing out that this “isn’t the first time he has done this sort of thing.”
Holder, he said, has “spent months just slandering law enforcement officers from all across the nation. He’s the one in Ferguson, Missouri, that brought up the racial profiling term and that we were going to end racial profiling once and for all, he said. He invoked that into this thing when it was never any part of what happened in the tragedy between Officer Darren Wilson and Mike Brown, but again: this is kind of habit now for this Justice Department under Eric Holder and I just think it’s a shame.”
But it was the controversial civil rights figure that felt the brunt of Clarke’s hostilities.
“I don’t expect anything intelligent to come out of the mouth of Al Sharpton,” Clarke said.
“The next intelligent thing that comes out of his mouth will be the first. We know he is a charlatan. Al Sharpton ought to go back into the gutter he came from. The police officer is owed a lot from him, Eric Holder and the President of the United States.”
