Phaedra Parks Remains Silent After Demetria McKinney Apologizes For ‘8 Years’ Comment

Phaedra Parks has been filming The Real Housewives of Atlanta for years, and she knows that it is hard to be the new wife to the group. And while Parks has gone through quite a bit over the past year, she continued to film with NeNe Leakes and the other ladies. Her husband, Apollo Nida, was waiting for his day to turn himself in so he could start serving his time, and rather than waiting around with him, Phaedra was packing up her bags and heading to Puerto Rico.

But Phaedra Parks traveled to Puerto Rico on Demetria McKinney’s bill, even though she had insulted her by calling her various names, and asking her if she was a crack user. Demetria had built up some animosity towards Parks because of her comments, but she felt that it was necessary to apologize.

According to a new Bravo report, The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Phaedra Parks hasn’t really reacted to Demetria’s apology, and her Twitter feed has remained somewhat silent about the matter. Instead, Parks was tweeting about Martin Luther King Day yesterday. But McKinney had no problem opening up about why she felt it was necessary to give Phaedra an apology.

“I like to have my peace when in performance situations, so I had to get the negativity off of me. I went to Phaedra and apologized, but I want to be very clear as to what that meant. The whole exchange between me and her happened because when you are just getting to know someone, certain comments can’t be said. Period,” she explains about Parks.

Of course, one of the more memorable comments she made about Phaedra was that her man had been there for eight years, and that Parks’ husband was going away for eight. It seemed to be an insensitive comment to make, given Parks was not involved in his legal issues, and she now has to take care of their two children without his help.

“I said the 8 comment to let her know I like peace, but I have that fight. My apology was for the hurt that resulted from that comment, not for standing my ground and defending myself. I tried, yet again, to be classy and yet, my apology was not reciprocated. Do I feel she could have said, “I’m sorry too,” sure. But at the end of the day, I went to her so that I felt right,” she explains.

Phaedra Parks may not be thinking about Demetria, even though Parks has admitted that she was sassy towards the new housewife. Parks somewhat explained her behavior without an apology, according to the Inquisitr. But Phaedra has had plenty of things to deal with as she recently sold her house, making a $27,000 profit while her estranged husband is locked up.
