NeNe Leakes’ Son Goes To Jail Following Probation Violation
NeNe Leakes’ son, Bryson Bryant, has been sent to jail after violating his probation. According to a new report, the Real Housewives of Atlanta star has had several run-ins with the law, the latest of which has landed him behind bars.
In court documents obtained by Radar Online on January 19, it was revealed Bryant was found guilty of reckless driving in December 2013 — and that wasn’t the only thing on his record for that year. In June 2013, Bryant crashed his vehicle, running into two utility poles and ending up in a ditch.
While NeNe Leakes’ son claimed “darkness caused him to wreck,” an officer claimed he could “smell the odor of alcoholic beverages resonating” from Bryant. Then, after being taken to the hospital, it was revealed he had a blood alcohol level of 0.048, and he was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.
Because of his DUI charge, Bryant was placed on a year of probation and served 30 days of house arrest.
From there, things only got worse for NeNe Leakes’ son.
“Bryant was ordered to undergo random alcohol and drug testing. However, not only did he fail to report to his probation officer four times in 2014; but also, he tested positive for cocaine, refused to pay fines of more than $1,200, and skipped mandatory DUI school. As a result, the young father was ordered to serve three months in jail starting in September and was released just two days before Thanksgiving on November 25, 2014.”
Although Bryant was released from jail in late November, his legal troubles were far from over. Two months later, according to court paperwork filed earlier this month, Bryant was ordered to check into “intensive” rehab for at least six weeks.
As the Inquisitr reported last month, Leakes appears to be on the fence when it comes to her future on The Real Housewives of Atlanta.
In an interview with Wetpaint Entertainment, Leakes, who previously led fans to believe she was done with the show after Season 7, hinted she may return after all.
“I always have one foot in and one foot out. I quit every year, and still end up back on the show. The show is an amazing platform, let me say that, but it is very difficult when you do all of these different things and then you go and sit with these girls and they be side-eyeing you like, ‘Why they pick her? Why is she on Broadway?’ It makes it very difficult to go to work with them every day because they be looking at you crazy.
“I won’t let somebody steal my thunder or take my check.”
The report did not note whether or not NeNe Leakes’ son is currently in rehab.
