‘Call Of Duty: Advanced Warfare’ Players Find Easter Egg, Least Advanced Gun In Game
Activision’s Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is one of the most popular games of 2014. So it’s only natural that gamers who memorize and exploit every nook and cranny of a multiplayer map to also find some of the secrets the developers left in the game. This is especially true of a game that topped sales charts, as detailed by the Inquisitr.
In a video by AH Community, players are shown to have been able to locate a weapon left in the game code by the developers. The gun, named WEAPON_RPG, is found by going off the normal path in the level “Throttle,” utilizing some of the new traversal techniques introduced in this version of Call of Duty, specifically the wrist grappling hook. There are no other RPGs in the game, as many of the weapons are vastly technologically superior, and some might think it took much to go out of the way for this weapon.
When you get to the top of the building, you’ll notice this is an area the Call of Duty developers did not want you to get into, mainly because there is no floor below you. However, awaiting is a floating RPG that does very little damage compared to other weapons Advanced Warfare has to offer.
This isn’t the first Easter Egg in a video game, and in fact, many games including Call of Duty have had them in the past. In fact, most Call of Duty Easter eggs have taken place within the game’s zombie modes. My favorite is “German Dance Party” found within Call of Duty: Finest Hour on the original Xbox, Playstation 2, and Gamecube systems.
Also within Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is another “Easter egg” that is getting expanded into a fully fledged DLC package. As reported previously by the Inquisitr, the Havoc DLC pack is coming later this month to Xbox One and Xbox 360, and eventually to the other platforms. Before the DLC pack was to come out, Call of Duty fans would have to unlock all of the Exo Survival Maps in order to experience a Zombie Exo Survival mode on the Tier 4 map Riot. It’s a lot more complicated than it seems, with co-op teams having to survive hundreds of rounds of the game in order to play this one round at the end of the map. Advanced Warfare players who survive the round are rewarded with a cut-scene and a few other perks.
It just goes to show that if you leave something in the game code, players are going to find it somehow. Call of Duty is no exception to this. Enjoy the WEAPON_RPG and let us know what you think in the comments below. Happy parkouring!
