Lenovo, maker of laptops, desktops, and more recently, tablets, has announced the launch of two new laptops, the ThinkPad Edge E430 and ThinkPad Edge E530. The specs for both laptops are virtually the same aside from screen size. The E430 has a 14 inch screen while the E530 has a 15 inch screen.
The ThinkPad line of laptops has typically been geared towards the every day business user so those familiar with them will know what to expect. Specs are as follows :
- 14 or 15 inch screen
- Ivy Bridge Intel Core i3, i5, i7, or AMD Fusion APU processor
- Up to 1TB hard drive with SSD (solid state drive) option
- USB 3.0 ports for blazing fast data transfer
- Built-in HD webcam
“The E430 and E530 will come in an assortment of colors, including Midnight Black, Heatwave Red, and Cobalt Blue, and feature an aluminum shell with a similar soft-touch finish on the lid as the S430. The E430 and E530 will be available on April, provided that Intel’s Ivy Bridge processors are released on time, and will have a starting price of $549.”
As users become increasingly mobile , the bigger data storage in these laptops is a big plus for those who require it, especially business users where large amounts of data need to be stored, accessed, and transferred at any given time. Unfortunately, Lenovo didn’t comment on the battery life, though we’d hope you’d get a minimum of a few hours out of it.
As the launch date gets closer, tech reviewers will get demos of them and that’s when you’ll get more details in that aspect.
