Nina Dobrev Quitting ‘Vampire Diaries’ If Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed Get Married?
Is Nina Dobrev ready to quit The Vampire Diaries? Celeb Dirty Laundry reports that the actress may consider leaving the hit show if her ex-boyfriend and co-star, Ian Somerhalder, marries his girlfriend Nikki Reed.
As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed recently got engaged during the holiday season after just six months of dating, and Nina Dobrev may not be taking the news so well.
Ever since Nina and Ian split in early 2014, there has been some bad blood between them.
When the couple broke up after two years of dating, they were determined to remain friends. The pair attended awards shows together and put on a united front for the fans. All seemed to be working out well until Nina started becoming romantically linked to Hollywood hunks such as Orlando Bloom, Derek Hough, and Liam Hemsworth.
Ian seemed to be okay with Nina moving on, but once Somerhalder began a relationship with Dobrev’s former friend Nikki Reed, all bets were off.
Nina Dobrev reportedly hated the fact that Ian Somerhalder moved Nikki Reed to Atlanta where The Vampire Diaries films and started bringing his new girlfriend to set.
Since that time, things have gone from bad to worse on The Vampire Diaries set, as Nina and Ian have allegedly began an all-out feud, which many fans have worried would end the series prematurally.
Now, it seems that if Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed get married while the show is still in production, Nina Dobrev may be too upset and/or proud to continue working with Ian and pretending to be in love with him on screen.
However, fans are hoping that Nina, Ian, and Nikki can work through their differences and possibly even become friends. While that may be too much of a stretch, at the very least Dobrev, Somerhalder, and Reed could be civil to one another and learn to get along, or at least politely ignore each other for the sake of their careers.
As The Vampire Diaries continues to wind down, it would be great if viewers could get a great ending to the series, instead of a rushed, or recalculated one because Ian and Nina can’t seem to get along.
Plenty of exes have worked together after splitting. Sophia Bush and Chad Michael Murray spent multiple seasons on One Tree Hill after divorcing, and Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter continued their run on Dexter after their divorce as well.
