Valentine’s Day 2015 For Single People, Five Things To Help You Get Through The Day

It’s that time of year again, Valentine’s Day 2015 — a time for couples to flaunt and taunt the public with their loves. Forced to watch these displays of “everlasting love,” singles — like yourself — usually can’t wait until the day ends. To help pass the time, here are five things you can do throughout the day.

Be Around People Who Make You Laugh

Laughter is said to increase your endorphin levels, thus making you feel better. According to a study from the University of Kentucky , most laughter comes from spending time with family and friends. Well, that may be slightly unfortunate since they could also be flaunting the holiday-loving. So, you might have to get your laughs from the likes of Kevin Hart, Aziz Ansari, or Louis C.K.

Spend Some Time At The Gym

For single people, Valentine’s Day can be quite the frustrating day. What better way is there to relieve yourself of tension than to workout? Well, yes. There’s sex. However, since this time is all about romance — be it you’re single and possibly want more than sex — it may not be the best route to take. There’s a saying: You never post to social media when you’re drunk, you never grocery shop when you’re hungry, and you never date when you’re “horny.” To avoid getting into a situationship or gaining a clingy person, it may be more wise to just go to the gym.

Treat Yourself To One Thing

In 2015, Valentine’s Day could be an emotional time for singles. During stressful times, it’s known that shopping helps. According to Wall Street Journal , it states as follows.

“Shopping makes you feel good. A growing body of brain research shows how shopping activates key areas of the brain, boosting our mood and making us feel better — at least for a little while…”

“… Understanding the way your brain responds to shopping can help you make sense of the highs and lows of holiday shopping, avoid buyer’s remorse and lower your risk for overspending.”

This is why you should limit yourself to one thing. Seeing all the holiday deals could trick you while in your emotional state. Just be aware as you trade your money on Valentine’s Day 2015.

Be Action-Packed The Entire Day

As a matter of convenience, this year’s Valentine is on a Saturday. That means you can spend the whole day on “level 10.” Go hiking, off-roading, climbing, sky-diving, white-water rafting, extreme-biking, shooting at a range — heck, you can even spend the day watching action-packed movies. Anything to keep your mind off the “mushy stuff,” right?

Please, only do these things if you have or want to gain experience in doing them. Certainly, the aforementioned are only a few of the possibilities of having an action-packed day on Valentine’s 2015. Safety is most important.

Switch Focus And Love Yourself

By doing this, you could set a goal to show yourself love. For example, engage in a bit of self-improvement. The bad habit that has been ruining your life, begin and continue the steps to quit it. Make yourself proud. There’s only one “you.” And who can love you better than you?

If you’re out in public, “Happy Valentine’s Day” will be what you hear throughout the day anyway.

What are your thoughts? Will it be happy? Will you make the most of it for yourself? Or will you loathe and mope around?
