Kate Middleton has been one busy mommy and of late has been far from the “lazy royal” accusatory label recently given to her.
On Friday, pregnant Kate stopped by The Fostering Network in Islington, London to draw attention to the UK’s leading foster care charity. The Duchess was sure to be on hand on Thursday as well in order to assist in opening The Art Room, another organization which the beautiful royal supports. While there Middleton was able to have a discussion with teachers and counselors on the importance of art therapy. Children discussed their artwork with Kate as she made the rounds to visit the various students at the event.

As US Weekly relays, while at The Fostering Network, “[Middleton] enjoyed tea and biscuits with social workers, care leavers, and kids, as she was given an overview of the organization’s expansive work.”
Before the tea party commenced, Kate was able to chat with senior staff and caretakers, as well as young adults who had previously been fostered there. She stated her appreciation for being a part of the event.
“It’s really great for me to have an opportunity to speak to you.”
Thirty-three-year-old Middleton attended the event outfitted in a cinched-waist, loose brown Hobbs dress that was just form-fitting enough to reveal her tiny baby bump. Her gorgeous locks were also loose and sleek, tucked behind her ears to reveal loop earrings that were gold in color.
The Fostering Network, is an organization which Kate has reportedly been an avid supporter of and aids in building stable futures for 63,000 children who reside with 52,500 foster families around the UK. US indicates that, “[m]any of these children are at high risk and oftentimes subject to neglect, physical/emotional abuse, and exposure to domestic violence as well as substance abuse.”
While there, Kate bonded with many of the children and as the Daily Mail noted, the Duchess, “[l]ooked smitten by some of the children she met, including a six-month-old girl [named] Naya.”
Upon her departure, Middleton was given an appreciative gift from the network. The gift was a “memory box” which is a means for kids in care to store their memorabilia and photos which remind them of positive memories from their time spent in the organization. Middleton was also showered with flowers from the children.
Lucy Peake, director of development at the network shared how much the visit from Duchess Kate means with US.
“We are very grateful to her for her interest, and know that the foster carers and care leavers attending our event today are excited to be sharing their experiences and stories with her. A visit from The Duchess helps to shine a spotlight on fostering and the need for more foster carers.”
Middleton, who has recently joined Twitter, along with husband Prince William and brother in-law Prince Harry, has made her support of various charities known via tweets and follows that have been made public since the activation of the @KensingtonRoyal account on Wednesday. It is clear that the Duchess intends to put her best efforts forward to do her part and change the mind of doubters in regards to her work ethic as a royal.
