Fall Out Boy Announce Boys Of Zummer Tour With Wiz Khalifa
Fall Out Boy has been busy making music and touring around the world. However, fans in the United States have anxiously been waiting for the band to announce their summer tour, and on Thursday, the band made the announcement.
Last summer, Fall Out Boy toured with New Politics and Paramore on the MonumenTOUR. They traveled all over the country, playing fan favorites from past albums as well as several of their new hits from their Save Rock and Roll album. This year, they have a new album, American Beauty/American Psycho, and will be traveling across the country once again.
Taking to their official Facebook page to make the announcement, Fall Out Boy revealed the tour will be named The Boys of Zummer, and also named the acts that will be touring with them. Fans who checked out the band last summer immediately noticed that the opening acts are quite different from last summer, and include Pittsburgh rapper Wiz Khalifa and Hoodie Allen. The tour kicks off June 10 in Camden, New Jersey, and wraps up August 10 in Los Angeles.
Other tour dates on the Boys of Zummer tour include stops in Pennsylvania, Virginia, and New Mexico. In total, there are 39 stops on the tour (check out the Fall Out Boy Facebook page for a complete list of tour dates.) Like last year, pre-sale tickets will be available, but this year, the band decided to do things differently. They took to their Twitter account to make the announcement.
As the band pointed out on their Twitter page, Boys of Zummer started trending after Fall Out Boy made the tour announcement.
There is no doubt that Fall Out Boy fans have been waiting for this announcement. The tour announcement comes just days after the band streamed every song from their new album American Beauty/American Psycho, as previously reported by the Inquisitr. The album will be released in full on January 20, and interestingly, that is when presale tickets will be available to fans. Presale tickets will go on sale at 3 p.m. Eastern time, but if you are not interested in getting in on the presale, the general sale starts January 23.
Recently speaking with VH1, Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz spoke about their new album and their new sound.
“Our legacy’s important to us, but we want to show people that you can play rock and roll in stadiums and amphitheaters and you can play music on those same stages that’s currently being played on the radio. And that’s a pretty f-cking hard thing to do.”
