Naya Rivera called Justin Bieber “A douche bag” on Thursday’s edition of The View .
The outspoken Glee actress — who is often pictured in a state of undress herself — made her comments after a photo of Justin’s shirtless-with-a-white-towel selfie was displayed on the show.
Rivera said, “I care less about the Photoshopping than the shirtless selfie. It’s annoying, and you look like a douchebag .”
She explained, “Girls don’t want to date guys that are constantly in a mirror… like, stop. Go fix something in the house. That’s hotter.”
[ For the Bieber topic, forward to around the 12:30 mark ]
Rivera’s remark triggered a mix of laughter and shocked “Ooh’s” from the studio audience and others on The View panel, and prompted accusations of bullying from Beliebers who watched the morning show or heard about the insults.
One of the men on the panel added, “I don’t care about Justin Bieber’s penis. I’m shocked that he has one at all.”
Meanwhile, Republican blowhard Nicolle Wallace snarked with, “I think he’s a tool,” before completely misquoting Bieber’s two-word selfie caption.

If posting shirtless pics on Instagram makes you an annoying douchebag what does posting bikini pics and posing nude make you??

Bieber’s shirtless selfie was a big headline on Wednesday, which was when the 20-year-old posted the photo to his Instagram account, alongside the caption, “Photoshop lol.”
While the “Confident” singer is well known for sharing shirtless selfies, there was a bigger context to his post. A day after Bieber was named as the new face of Calvin Klein’s spring 2015 Underwear and Jeans Campaign with the model, Lara Stone, photoshopping rumors started flying.
Last week, a website attempted to pass off a photoshopped GIF pic of the singer with less muscles and a smaller bulge as an “unretouched” pic from his CK shoot. The site removed the GIF and admitted it was a photoshop, after Bieber’s legal team sent them a cease and desist letter and threatened to sue for defamation.
Bieber’s selfie, which showed him with a defined six-pack, while holding a towel in such a way that the outline of his package was seen was — in effect — his way of addressing the photoshopping claims.
Rivera’s comments just one day after Bieber was criticized on The View on the basis of an unsubstantiated claim by Hollywood Life , a gossip blog notorious for inventing stories, and which, topped watchdog website Gossip Cop’s “Worst Outlet in Celebrity Journalism” table last November.
Hollywood Life claimed Bieber was “furious” that his ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez is dating producer/DJ Zedd , but failed to provide any actual evidence for that claim.
Naya, who is a guest panelist on The View while moderator Whoopi Goldberg is away, set off a backlash after she claimed showering daily is “such a white people thing” and “ethnic” people do not shower as frequently on Tuesday’s edition.
Rivera apologized for her comments on Wednesday’s edition and claimed she was joking when she made her showering jibe.
Will she apologize to Justin Bieber for her “douche bag” remark, given that the singer was defending himself against photoshopping accusations in — arguably — the simplest way?
