Nick Cannon Hospitalized After “Mild” Kidney Failure
It hasn’t been the best start to 2012 for actor/comedian Nick Cannon.
According to wife Mariah Carey’s official site, Cannon, 31, is currently on the mend in an Aspen, Colorado hospital after suffering what is being described as a “mild” kidney failure:
“We’re trying to be as festive as possible under the circumstances but please keep Nick in your thoughts because this is very painful,” Carey explained to her fans in the post, which also included a picture of the “Fantasy” singer playing nurse — feeding Cannon some sort of drink with a straw — while they snuggled together in a hospital bed.
Mariah continues, “We’re doing OK but we’re “straaaaaanded in Aspen”. #DramaticDivaPlace (I know, we could be in a lot worse places) but the truth is as long as we’re together, we’re OK. I’m not trying to make light out of the situation because it’s a serious moment that’s very tough on all of us so please keep us and our family in your prayers. LYM.”
Carey, 41, married Cannon in the Bahamas in 2008, following a whirlwind romance. In May 2010, she gave birth to their twin son and daughter, Monroe and Moroccan.
CBS News points out that less than 24 hours before Nick Cannon checked into the hospital, the “America’s Got Talent” host posted photos of the family bundled up with their children while walking through the streets of Aspen.
