Cristiano Ronaldo’s Son Starstruck By Lionel Messi [Video]
Cristiano Ronaldo may currently be the FIFA Ballon d’Or winner, but son, Cristiano Junior, is in awe of no other than his father’s great rival, Lionel Messi.
After Ronaldo was named 2014 Ballon D’Or winner, beating four-time winner Messi into second place, the two players had a friendly exchange in the lobby of Zurich’s Kongresshaus when Cristiano Jr. pointed at Messi and then stood up to greet him.
Real Madrid’s Portugal captain Ronaldo told his arch-rival Messi, “He watches a video on the internet of all of us and he talks about you,” prompting a coy reaction from his son.
Barcelona forward Messi chuckled and asked the young Cristiano how he was doing.
“You are embarrassed now!” Ronaldo then laughed to his son.
There has always been intense speculation that the two greatest players in the world do not see eye-to-eye. Those rumors may not dissipate with the evident affection felt by Cristiano Jr. towards Messi – and voting for the Ballon d’Or revealed that Ronaldo and Messi did not nominate each other in their own top-three choices.
Ronaldo received his third Ballon D’Or on Monday with the Portuguese, and Messi had won the award every year since 2008.
