Manchester United could be on the alert as former player Paul Pogba has hinted that he is willing to leave his current club, Juventus FC, for a move abroad. Pogba’s agent, Mino Raiola, has intimated that his client is ready for a move abroad within the next year.
Mino Raiola is known to tout his clients to top clubs around Europe for a massive transfer fee. His clients include top players such as Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Mario Balotelli, and Marek Hamsek.
Speaking to the Italian media Raiola said , “We are happy with Juve, we have extended the contract, it’s all fine [but] whether this season or the next, when the right moment comes [to leave], we’ll take it”.
“Is Pogba’s price tag around €80million ($94m)? He is one of the most expensive players on the market. Considering his age, he has room for improvement and he is among the best. Of course, the asking price always depends on eventual buyers.”
Clubs such as Paris Saint Germain, Manchester City, and Manchester United are known admirers of the French international. Pogba controversially left Manchester United on a free transfer to Juventus due to lack of first team opportunity offered by then manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
However, recently Pogba has admitted that he would welcome a move back to Manchester United, fueling further rumors of a return. Speaking of his time at Old Trafford, Pogba acknowledged that he was impatient. “He said ‘your time will come’ but it never did. It didn’t come. But it does not mean I will speak ill of Manchester United. I love the club.”
“I’m impatient. It was the feeling I had. The coach (Sir Alex Ferguson) had faith in me but didn’t put me on. He said that I was too young.”
Meanwhile, Manchester United are fresh off a dreaded 1-0 defeat to Southampton at Old Trafford. However, Argentine winger Angel Di Maria believes that manager Louis Van Gaal is building something special at United.
“From the start of the season to now, you can see that we’ve grown,” Di Maria told MUTV.
“We weren’t so great at the beginning but we’ve started getting a few victories under our belts. There are some people saying that we’re not playing in a particularly good style or that it’s not the old Manchester United, but it’s not. We’re beginning something new here. We’ve got a new style, we’ve got a new manager and we’re all working hard to make sure we’re putting Manchester United back where it belongs.”
Louis Van Gaal will certainly seek to improve the squad in the summer transfer window later this year, and undoubtedly Pogba will be on United’s shortlist.
