Zooey Deschanel Pregnant: ‘New Girl’ Actress Pregnant, Expecting First Baby With Producer Boyfriend

Zooey Deschanel is pregnant! The New Girl actress has confirmed that she is expecting her first child with her boyfriend, producer Jacob Pechenik. According to ABC News, the 34-year-old actress is really excited to be starting this next chapter of her life. She and Pechenik have been dating for less than a year, but seem really happy to be experiencing this pregnancy as a couple. It is unknown if the two have plans to marry at this time.

“Jacob and I are over the moon. We are so excited to meet our little one,” Deschanel told People Magazine. The mag also points out that baby Pechenik already has a womb-BFF as Zooey’s sister, Emily, is also pregnant. Emily is expecting her second child, and she just confirmed the exciting news last month. It will undoubtedly be fun for the sisters to go through this together.

It is unknown how Zooey Deschanel’s pregnancy will affect her work or if her growing bump will be written into anything she is working on. Many celebrities seem to manage balancing a pregnancy and their day to day work schedules without having to worry too much. Actresses like Claire Danes (Homeland) have filmed their respective shows without their growing tummies being noticed, so there is always a way to work around a pregnancy in Hollywood.

As far as Deschanel’s romance with Pechenik, it is still fairly new. According to the Huffington Post, the two started dating last summer, but got serious fairly quick.

“[The] actress and Pechenik were first linked romantically when the paparazzi spotted them together at a park in August 2014. They made their first public appearance at the 2014 Emmy Awards shortly thereafter.”

The last time Deschanel was in the news, the circumstances were much different. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, the actress was sued at the end of last year for poor treatment of a horse. The claims that she has been overworking the stallion stem back to 2013. Evidently the horse’s owner believes that Deschanel broke a contract, and they are holding her accountable.

“Deschanel signed a horse contract… promising not to overwork [Literati] with restrictions that included ‘no more than 3 jumping lessons per week.’ But [horse owner Patty Parker] says… when Deschanel returned the horse… it was a shell of its former self — ‘injured and unusable. Sad.'”

No word on whether or not that lawsuit has not been settled.
