‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 5 Premiere Announced
The Game of Thrones news that fans have waited for so long for is finally here. HBO announced premiere date for Game of Thrones Season 5 of the popular fantasy series has been set for April 12, 2015. The show will be aired in its original 9:00 p.m. time slot.
On April 12, Game of Thrones will be accompanied by the Silicon Valley and Veep premieres too. Veep will start its fourth season, and Silicon Valley its second. Both of these series will have 10 episodes this season.
As for Game of Thrones, this widely praised television series is based on the bestseller book series A Song of Ice and Fire written by George R.R. Martin. The fourth season of the series was shown from April till June last year and the fans are really eager to see the new season of the popular series. HBO has now given a concrete date for fans to give them enough time to clear their schedule and enjoy.
Knowing George R.R. Martin’s passion for killing off his characters, no one is safe. Some of the lucky cast members who will continue to play their roles in Season 5 include: Emilia Clarke, Peter Dinklage, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Lena Headey, Natalie Dormer, Kit Harington, Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams. Question is – who will die next?
One thing is certain – it won’t be Isaac Hempstead-Wright or Kristian Nairn, staring Bran Stark and Hodor, because of one particular reason, they won’t be featured in Season 5. The reason lies in the fact that in the fourth season of the series, Bran and Hodor’s character’s story line have already advanced to the fifth book. Other characters are currently in the third and the fourth book, meaning they require more screen time in the new season of the show.
George R.R. Martin also needs some catching up to do, considering the pressure to release the sixth book in the series has risen to the top. Fans demand the next book to finally put to rest all those theories and claims about what will happen next.
Trailer for the much anticipated season will be released at the end of January. The trailer will be shown from January 23-29 in the selected IMAX theatres all around the United States, during the screenings of the last episodes from Season 4 of Game of Thrones.
