Girlfriend Regrets Hooking Up With George Zimmerman, Calls Him ‘Psychopath’
George Zimmerman is in trouble again with another episode of domestic violence, which occurred in the middle of the night on January 5. His new ex-girlfriend, whose name has been redacted from police reports, called him a “psychopath” and said she regrets ever entering the relationship. According to the woman’s allegations, Zimmerman threw a wine bottle and broke her smartphone in a fight over a painting.
The night of the incident, police heard glass break and saw the girlfriend’s car speed out of Zimmerman’s driveway. According to the Daily News, the car was filled with her possessions and she was reportedly “very emotional and upset.”
The officers pulled her over because she did not have her headlights on. She then told the officers what had happened, which went into an official report.
“She advised that she had been in a verbal altercation over a painting, with George Zimmerman and that Zimmerman threw a bottle of wine in her direction when she attempted to leave… Zimmerman threw the cell phone on the ground, breaking it.”
It’s still not clear what painting the couple were fighting over; however, Zimmerman has used his fame to launch an art career. He recently sold a piece for more than $100,000.
The girlfriend went on to say she had been with George Zimmerman for two or three months, but he wanted to “take their relationship further than she wanted.”
She insisted to police that she didn’t really want to get more involved with George, even if that meant not advocating for herself in a domestic violence charge.
The police tried to contact Zimmerman after the incident, including a 90-minute stretch on Friday night knocking on his door and calling his cell phone. George finally agreed to speak with the officers, but only in the presence of his lawyer, Don West.
In that meeting, Zimmerman claimed that the girlfriend threw the wine bottle and the phone has been broken since last year. The police didn’t believe the story and booked him into John E. Polk Correctional Facility, Friday night at 10 p.m.
Don West later spoke with reporters, according to the Las Vegas Review.
“Whatever happened took place several days ago. And, as far as I know, they have not been together for some time, certainly not since then.”
West added, “it’s clear he hasn’t been very lucky with the ladies the last few months.”
As previously reported by the Inquisitr, George Zimmerman has not been successful in his love life, or much else, since being acquitted of second degree murder charges for the shooting of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.
His wife, Shellie Zimmerman, divorced him shortly after a physical altercation where George punched the wife’s father in the face and smashed an iPad. He had another girlfriend named Samantha Scheibe, but after numerous threatening fights, she left.
George Zimmerman appeared in court on Saturday morning, and was released on $5,000 bail.
