At the Golden Globes, Kevin Spacey proved that you can be nominated eight times for your body of work, but all it takes is an F-bomb to be memorable. While some were turned off by Spacey’s profanity-laced speech , many took to Twitter to praise him.
On a night where many nominees plaster smiles on their faces, Spacey was refreshingly candid at the podium. The actor won the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Television Series for his role on the Netflix series House of Cards . Clutching his Golden Globe in the air, the veteran actor joked, “This is just the beginning of my revenge.” Something his character Francis Underwood would no doubt proclaim to the camera.

The actor went on to say, “I cannot f—ing believe I won.” Which was followed by a reaction shot of Mark Ruffalo getting a big chuckle out of Spacey’s words.
All jokes aside, the true highlight of Kevin Spacey’s speech happened when he told an emotional moment he shared with director Stanley Kramer. Calling him, “one of the great filmmakers of all time,” Spacey recalled the memory.
At the time the actor was flustered and was unsure if the director, who was ill, knew how much admiration he had for him. Spacey relayed the message to the audience, pointing out that Kramer was thankful for the comments.
“Thank you so much for saying that, that means so much to me. I just wish my films could have been better.”
Spacey’s speech continued, circling around to his point.
“As I stand here tonight as someone who has enjoyed such an extraordinary career and in large measure because of the people in this room. I just want it to be better, I just want to be better, but this is very encouraging. Thank you very much.”
As millions watched Kevin Spacey’s acceptance speech a lot of people agreed that it resonated.
