Jeff Simms Claims ‘Teen Mom 2’ ‘Likely Will Be Back’ For Season 6
Jeff Simms added to the speculation regarding a possible sixth season of Teen Mom 2 over the weekend. In a tweet posted on Saturday, the father of Corey Simms, Leah Messer’s ex-husband, revealed the show would “likely” return.
“I have heard it likely will be back,” Jeff Simms told a curious fan on January 10.
For months, fans have been hearing conflicting reports regarding a possible Teen Mom 2 Season 6. In early December 2014, as the Inquisistr reported, Messer revealed she would not be returning to the show for the series’ upcoming season. However, weeks later, the Ashley’s Reality Roundup claimed the mother of three had signed on to appear.
The site reported the following.
“Leah signed the Season 6 paperwork last week and will begin filming her segments soon! Leah signed on for one reason only: she needs the money. Although she recently started her own styling/photography business, Leah does have three children to care for and, with her marriage to Jeremy Calvert basically over, she needs to have a steady source of income.”
At the time, the Ashley’s source also claimed Jeff Simms and the family would be “allowed to film.”
As the Inquisitr reported earlier, cast member Jenelle Evans is currently in negotiations with MTV to air her and her fiancé Nathan Griffith’s wedding on the show.
“Jenelle and MTV have a super close relationship and having her wedding get could be a big ratings hit for the network,” a source told Radar Online. “Her chaotic life has always been on TV so there is no reason now that she’s getting married again for it not to be on MTV. But she’s getting smarter and she knows how to negotiate better so she wants MTV to pay for the wedding.”
Evans and Griffith got engaged earlier this month while on vacation in St. Thomas. Prior to the engagement, the couple appeared on Season 5A and Season 5B of the show, which followed their relationship and the birth of their first child, Kaiser.
“Jenelle is really happy with Nathan and MTV knows that her wedding will be all about the drama and they want to make sure they capture that. MTV drives a hard bargain with Jenelle but they do pay her so they’ll have to make the offer sweet enough for her to put this all on TV.”
Since his tweet was posted, Jeff Simms hasn’t commented any further on the issue.
