Zayn Malik: It’s His Birthday But Fiance Perrie Isn’t Talking To Him

One Direction star Zayn Malik is celebrating his 22nd birthday today, January 12. Whilst fans in their thousands have taken to social media to wish handsome hunk Zayn a happy birthday, it would seem that Zayn’s fiance, Little Mix star Perrie Edwards, is not speaking to the star.

Before Zayn’s fawning female fans get too excited, thinking that Zayn and Perrie’s relationship might be on the rocks, Zayn and Perrie are still very much an item. Unreality TV report that Perrie is not speaking to Zayn because she has been told to take voice rest in preparation for getting back in the studio with her band mates to continue work on their new album. Perrie took to Twitter to tell fans that she’s been banned from talking for a full day.

Meanwhile, Hollywood Life reports that as Zayn turns 22, he has more to celebrate than just his birthday.

“Zayn was declared one of the second-highest earning celebrities under 30 by Forbes, and the top artist of the year by Billboard. Those two things alone are major achievements!” the site reports.

The outlet continues, “But of course that’s just the tip of the iceberg for Zayn, who along with his 1D band mates, released yet another chart-topping album in 2014, ‘Four.’ The boys also launched a wildly successful stadium tour, their first one, called the Where We Are Tour. Even with all that, Directioners still can’t get enough of the boys, and the devastatingly handsome Zayn in particular!”

As Zayn celebrates his birthday, many of his 13.8 million Twitter followers wanted to pass birthday wishes to him. One of Zayn’s followers tweeted “Happy birthday Zayn! Hope it’s your best one yet,” and received 28k retweets and over 58k “likes” after Zayn retweeted her post.

Another fan received 22k retweets and over 50k “favorites” when she tweeted, “Happy birthday, hope your day was amazing and as fun as you are.”

Recent weeks have seen Zayn spending time with his friend Naughty Boy, who also took to the social media platform to wish his pal well on his birthday saying, “Happy birthday, May Allah continue to bless you always.”

Zayn Malik certainly seems to be reveling in all the attention that his birthday has brought him, as he has been much more active than usual on social media, and has regularly changed his profile picture over the last day or two. It is nice to see that he is still in a positive frame of mind, after pictures purporting to be of Zayn naked were leaked to the internet. It is believed that the photos were faked, but they do demonstrate how difficult it is for Zayn and his One Direction pals to maintain a little privacy.
