One Direction: Will The ‘On The Road Again’ Tour Be Their Last?
In less than four weeks time One Direction will be back on the road for a massive worldwide tour. It has been well publicized that the One Direction tour last year was seen by over 3.4 million people and made a profit of over $200 million. It seems certain that the new tour will see One Direction scale even greater heights, but there are signs that some of the band are feeling the pressure of constant touring and being in the public eye.
It was recently reported in Inquistr that Niall Horan had opened up to Now Magazine about the pressures of being a member of One Direction. The singer revealed that being on the road can get “lonely,” and he shared an anecdote about the horrors of being trapped inside a hotel room because of over enthusiastic fans.
“It can be quite frustrating being stuck in a hotel. I remember in Peru – I got up, went into Louis [Tomlinson’s] room and said: ‘Right, what we doing today?’ and he goes: ‘We should go shopping!’ Then we looked out the window. There were 10,000 people on the street outside our hotel.”
In recent days, the Mail reported that One Direction heart-throb Harry Styles has met with legendary film producer Harvey Weinstein to discuss appearing in a Hollywood blockbuster. The movie executive supposedly told the Sun that he had no doubts that One Direction star Harry was headed for the movies saying that
‘There’s no question he will enter the movie business. I get from him that he wants to. When you meet him, he’s super-charismatic.”
It was even suggested that Harry has already been offered a role by Harvey, who insists he’s got the perfect part for the British star. Harry reportedly had to turn it down because of his world tour commitments with his bandmates.
Of all the members of One Direction though, it is Zayn Malik who seems to find it most difficult to cope. He seems to be the least comfortable with being in the media spotlight and recent speculation in the Mirror and elsewhere that naked photographs of Zayn had been leaked to the internet will not have helped. Zayn and fiance Perrie Edwards have even had to postpone their wedding plans because their commitments with One Direction and Little Mix keep them apart so much.
According to Unreality TV, Zayn has become good pals with British music producer Naughty Boy. The duo previously worked together co-writing a song titled “One Chance To Dance” that was meant for One Direction’s Four album and are reportedly spending more time together.
It is believed that One Directions current contract with Simon Cowell’s SyCo expires at the end of this year. With so much speculation going on about possible new directions for One Directions stars, fans will be wondering if this will be their last chance to see their idols performs as a group.
