‘Once Upon A Time’: Ginnifer Goodwin’s Favorite Princess Isn’t Snow White

Once Upon a Time star Ginnifer Goodwin was the perfect pick to play Snow White on the ABC series — she comes off as being just as sweet and upbeat as her fairy tale character, and she even married her Prince Charming (Josh Dallas) in real life. However, it turns out that Snow White isn’t her favorite Disney princess anymore.

During an interview with InStyle, Ginnifer Goodwin explained why playing Snow White on Once Upon a Time made her change her mind about which Disney royal she admires most. And no, her answer didn’t have anything to do with feminism or the original Snow being a weak female character who needed a Prince Charming to save her — Goodwin is just adorably modest.

“My favorite princess used to be Snow White. Now that seems like such an egotistical answer somehow,” she said. “So, I feel like I’m forced to change it up. It also changes depending on where I am in my Disneyphile-ness. I would say right now I’m into Belle the bookworm.”

Ginnifer explained that she loves the Beauty and the Beast character because she “values herself for her intellect, and not for the way she looks.” Goodwin pointed out that the princess is also “not codependent, not waiting for a man.”

Luckily for Ginnifer Goodwin, both of her favorite princesses will have intriguing storylines when Once Upon a Time returns this March. As the Inquisitr previously reported, executive producers Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis recently revealed that Rumbelle fans have a reason to rejoice — the couple still might get a happy ending.

During the midseason finale of Once Upon a Time, Belle kicked Rumplestiltskin to the curb by banishing him from Storybrooke. However, it looked like Mr. Gold saw the Queens of Darkness (Cruella De Vil, Ursula, and Maleficent) as his ticket back to town. Now the big question is this: Once Rumple finds a way back to Storybrooke, will he try to win Belle back by behaving, or will he continue his quest to gain power and get the girl?

Kitsis told TV Line that Rumple has realized that he can’t have it all, so maybe he’ll finally choose Belle over his other desires. Horowitz also had some hopeful words for Once Upon a Time fans who want Rumbelle to live happily ever after.

“[Rumple and Belle] have been through a lot together, and despite how it may have felt in the midseason finale, their story is not over.”

As far as Snow White is concerned, you should expect to see a lot more Snowing when Once Upon a Time returns. During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Horowitz revealed that the Charmings have a connection to the Queens of Darkness.

“They’re going to play a much more integral role in what’s to come next, particularly with these Queens of Darkness. Their paths and the future of Storybrooke are aligned in a way that we’ll learn about very quickly.”

Kitsis revealed that fans will also get to see the fairy tale couple spend more quality time with Emma and Regina when Once Upon a Time returns.

“They’re really going to be in the forefront in the second half, and also their relationship with Emma and their relationship with Regina.”
