What Chris Harrison Says About Andi And Josh’s Breakup May Surprise ‘Bachelorette’ Fans
Bachelor host Chris Harrison issued a statement about Andi and Josh’s breakup on Friday and revealed a tidbit of information that may surprise fans. Harrison, who chatted with couple at the Bachelor Season 19 premiere on Monday night, states that he learned that Dorfman and Murray were calling it quits when everyone else did — on Thursday.
Very sorry to learn yesterday that @AndiDorfman and @jmurbulldog broke up. I wish both friends nothing but the best

If anyone would have the low-down on the relationship status of a former Bachelor or Bachelorette, it would be Chris Harrison. Did he really find out on Thursday, or was he just covering for Andi and Josh, who were rumored be having relationship issues months ago?
Even Nick Viall, Andi’s runner-up on The Bachelorette, hinted that he knew a breakup was coming by tweeting out some break-up tips shortly before the split was was announced.
On Thursday, Reality Steve broke the news on Twitter that Andi and Josh were ending their engagement. Minutes later, both E! Online published the couple’s cold and rather business-like statement that confirmed that their six-month engagement was over. Chris Harrison wants fans to believe that he found out when they did — but the jury is still out on that.
Many fans of the show are not convinced that the show’s rose master found out about the split on Thursday. Twitter was buzzing about the breakup, with some tweeting that they were “lied to” not only by Chris, but Andi and Josh as well. After all, Dorfman and Murray appeared on the Bachelor premiere red carpet on Monday night and chatted with Chris about their future plans — at the very least, they did a mediocre acting job.
@zenyatta_queen @chrisbharrison Eric Hill called it early. He caught her performing and left the show. Wish more guys had called her out too

@chrisbharrison @AndiDorfman @jmurbulldog we were all lied to Monday night. Deceit.

@chrisbharrison @AndiDorfman @jmurbulldog Bullshit Chris…you probably knew about it before Andi and Josh did. — Brandon Tietz (@brandontietz) January 9, 2015
Chris Harrison may have been aware prior to the premiere that Andi and Josh were ending their relationship, but perhaps he wanted to keep the focus on the new Bachelor, Chris Soules. Talking about a break-up during the premiere would have caused the live event to go off into a different direction, making it into a show about Andi and Josh instead of Prince Farming. And quite frankly, they already had their six months of fame.
Will fans ever know what really happened between Andi Dorfman and Josh Murray? Neither one of them is talking about it, other than the very scripted statement they issued on Thursday. Could a paid “breakup” interview with Chris Harrison be in the works? If so, expect to find out why the broke off their engagement on this season’s Men Tell All or during the After the Final Rose special that airs in March.
