Val Chmerkovskiy To Return For ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Season 20
Season 20 of Dancing with the Stars premieres this spring, and it seems that fan favorite Val Chmerkovskiy will be returning as one of the pros. The news doesn’t come as a big surprise to most DWTS fans, but those who love Chmerkovskiy will be relieved to know that Val’s return is a done deal.
The news came via Mass Live. Val Chmerkovskiy, who was paired with Janel Parrish in Season 19, apparently will start getting things ready with a new partner for the spring DWTS season beginning on February 17. He says that he has a spot on a show he loves, and that it is the greatest gift.
What other familiar faces will be in the mix of things this spring? Derek Hough has indicated that he will return, but Cheryl Burke will not. As Rumor Fix recently shared, Peta Murgatroyd hopes to return for this next season and that seems likely to happen.
Witney Carson said she didn’t know, though as the pro who won Season 19, chances would seem solid that she will also be back on DWTS for the spring season. What about Karina Smirnoff? She’s been a bit more vague, and some fans would guess her return is less certain than some of the other pros as she’s perhaps feeling ready for a break. Mark Ballas has also previously said he doesn’t know, though fans would be quite surprised if he weren’t back for Season 20.
It’s a bit early to start the official Dancing with the Stars cast and pro watch for the spring 2015 season, though that will all ramp up sooner rather than later. There have already been a few tidbits making the rounds regarding possible contestants, but nothing too solid has come together.
As for the judges, it is known that Len Goodman and Julianne Hough are returning alongside Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli, though Goodman is said to be leaving after this anniversary season. The expectations are high for this 20th season and fans are dying to know what pairs they can look forward to seeing.
Chmerkovskiy has already had some partners that fans were quite passionate over, including Zendaya, Janel, and Kelly Monaco. How can he top what he’s done with these previous partnerships? It sounds as if he’s anxious to embrace the challenge, and Val’s fans are confident he’ll bring some fantastic pieces to the new season.
