In The Big Lebowski , the film which kicked off the career of Tara Reid, the main character goes bowling again and again throughout the quirky, cult classic comedy film. Now Reid, who portrayed “Bunny Lebowski,” the party-girl trophy wife of a multi-millionaire, has paid her own quirky tribute to the film on her ever-active Instagram account, which can be seen in full at this link .
And as usual, the latest Tara Reid Instagram appears calculated to generate as much press as possible, because in the photo, she wears as little as possible.
Specifically, this time around, the 39-yera-old Reid was photographed — in amateurish, blurry fashion — in a bowling alley, Lucky Strike in San Francisco, holding a ball and wearing a bra, but no shirt. And she captioned one of the two January 7 photos, “#bunnylebowski just got a strike.”
In the 1998 film written, directed and produced by Joel and Ethan Coen , Tara Reid had a small but memorable role, in which she is seen in a bikini, lounging a swimming pool and making off-color suggestions to lead character Jeff “The Dude” Lebowski, played by Jeff Bridges.
For the Sharknado star, the role made enough of an impression to launch a career that has so far spanned 45 films and TV shows.
But more recently, Tara Reid has become better known for posting photos on Instagram that generate headlines, for one reason or another. Over Thanksgiving, she posted several shots that caused fans to worry about her health, saying that she appeared dangerously thin.
Then during the Christmas holiday, she again posted several bikini shots in which she appeared underfed, in the opinion of many of her online followers.
Reid followed those shots with a fully nude Instagram photo on New Year’s Eve — in which she modestly covered herself with her strategically placed hands while reclining in a hammock — and another bikini shot in which her midsection seemed to have been crudely altered with Photoshop or some other image editing software, to make her appear even thinner.
Finally, on January 7, Tara Reid posted her Big Lebowski homage, featuring herself in San Francsco’s Lucky Strike bowling alley wearing just white jeans and a bra.
Unfortunately for fans of the much-revered film, Reid’s Instagram shots are likely the closest they will ever come to seeing a Big Lebowski sequel. Though last October, an “announcement” that the Coen Brothers were working on a Big Lebowski 2 project, those reports turned out to be just another internet hoax.
Tara Reid, however, has indeed signed on to star in Sharknado 3 , which may or may not feature her playing a character who goes bowling only to get attacked by flying sharks.
