‘Real Housewives Of New Jersey’ Canceled? Loss Of Teresa Giudice Puts Show In Jeopardy
Will The Real Housewives Of New Jersey be canceled? According to Radar Online, Bravo is weighing its options when it comes to another season of the show. Since Teresa Giudice is in jail and won’t be able to film the show in 2015, the network is likely wondering just how good ratings would be without her… and there is some concern that the show won’t survive, which is why Bravo hasn’t made any announcements in regard to its return.
“At this point, The Real Housewives of New Jersey is essentially done. Bravo has considered all of their options and they don’t feel like there is really a show without Teresa. Whether the other women want to admit it or not, she is the star of the franchise. The show simply wouldn’t be the same without her,” said a source.
There has been some chatter about RHONJ taking a year off, and resuming once Teresa is out of jail. The ratings for the show would skyrocket if Bravo filmed Teresa after prison, that is beyond clear. It seems as though everyone would want to see Teresa’s family, and how they are adapting to life with their mom back at home (and, of course, their dad going to prison).
The future of The Real Housewives of New Jersey has been the topic of conversation for months. In fact, Reality Tea questioned the show’s staying power post-Teresa back in November. Executive producer Andy Cohen is a fan of Teresa’s, and it’s possible that he might be behind the idea of waiting to film another season of the series because he wants to wait until she gets back. Now, there is no guarantee that she will want to do the show again, but she will need the money, so a deal could be reached.
As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Teresa surrendered to prison on Monday morning. Sources say that her check-in process went smoothly, and that she didn’t get upset or fight the process. She prepared herself for the inevitable and really faced this head-on, which is undoubtedly difficult, but she managed.
“Teresa was extremely professional and didn’t cry. She was determined not to look weak in front of anyone,” said a source. That’s not to say that it was easy for Teresa, but she made sure that she kept it together when she needed to. There will be plenty of nights where she cries herself to sleep, but that’s only to be expected.
Do you think Bravo should cancel RHONJ? Do you think the show would do well without Teresa Giudice and her family?
