WWE News: Big News On Who Will Win The Royal Rumble Match, Who Is Being Considered

WWE’s annual Royal Rumble PPV is coming up in just a few weeks. We’re all traveling down WrestleMania road and getting ready for the biggest event in all of sports entertainment. However, the number one kick-off to this is the Rumble match. The winner goes on to face the current World Champion at WrestleMania.

When the brand split was around, the winner would choose who they wanted to face, the WWE or World Heavyweight Champion. Now that WWE is back down to one World Title, the competition for winning the Rumble is higher than it has been in over a decade. Last year, when WWE had its first WrestleMania in over a decade without two World Titles, the person who was going to win the Rumble was up for debate. Everyone wanted it.

Instead, WWE gave us Batista. A man who had been gone for years. He came back to win the match no one wanted him to win, disappointing everyone. Luckily, WWE was able to get Daniel Bryan into the main event to save the show, but it was something fans wanted to see anyway. So WWE had to backtrack in order to do it.

Now, they are running into a similar issue. Fans aren’t as high on Roman Reigns as much anymore. However, everyone seems to be high on Dean Ambrose, Dolph Ziggler, and Seth Rollins. Despite the hate he has as a heel, Rollins is a guy people love to hate. In fact, many consider him the top heel in WWE today.

WWE still wants for us to see Roman Reigns vs Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 31. The idea was to make it for the title, but this is not technically needed now.

WWE had a triple threat match for the WWE World Heavyweight Title at the Royal Rumble, pitting Brock Lesnar against John Cena and Seth Rollins. Now that this is happening, WWE can have a title change occur without Lesnar looking weak. So a win over him at WrestleMania could be good.

Meanwhile, there are plans to look into changing the winner of the Rumble from Reigns to potentially Daniel Bryan.

According to Daily Wrestling News, Reigns is the guy WWE feels could be the next John Cena. However, they do not want another 2014 issue. Since Bryan is healthy enough to return, he could get his main event spot back once again at the event. The issue, many still see him legitimately as a “B” star.

Despite this, he has been a proven ratings draw and a big reason for the success of WrestleMania 30. So, with that said, people still see the draw in the concept. However, they also feel that his injured past makes his future questionable. So while he was in consideration for the win, guys like Dean Ambrose and Dolph Ziggler are still very likely.

At the end of the day, many feel that Reigns will still win. However, due to how WWE is shaping things for the Royal Rumble PPV, that concept seems like a 50 percent shot instead of the 90 percent shot it was at in the fall.
