Desiree Hartsock Skips ‘Bachelor’ Premiere: Upset ABC Won’t Air Wedding To Chris Siegfried?
Former Bachelorette Desiree Hartsock and her husband to be, Chris Siegfried, were not on the red carpet at the Bachelor Season Premiere on Monday, leaving many fans wondering if they skipped the big event because ABC refuses to air their upcoming wedding. Des and Chris are getting married this month and seem disappointed that they will be first couple from the franchise who will not get married on TV.

@KarenFTana @DesHartsock unfortunately they aren’t interested in even that. Don’t worry. We will figure out how to share with everyone!

Last year, fans got to see Sean Lowe marry Catherine Giudici on live TV, with E! reporting that they received a “six figure sum” for their “grown sexy” nuptials. Previous to Sean-Cat’s wedding, Bachelor fans got to watch the televised weddings of Ashley and JP Rosenbaum, and Jason and Molly Mesnick.
And who can forget the biggest and priciest wedding of them all — Trista and Ryan Sutter’s three episode special, aptly named Trista & Ryan’s Wedding. Slate reports that ABC paid the couple $1 million to televise their wedding ceremony, one that reportedly drew over 26 million viewers.
@ChrisRSiegfried @DesHartsock Can’t believe ABC is being so cheap as to not air your wedding. Your’s is the one I’ve been waiting to see. — Darlene Webster (@Softheart55) January 3, 2015
On Monday night, Desiree Hartsock tweeted about the Bachelor premiere, stating that she and Chris “couldn’t make it” to the red carpet event. Did they miss it because they weren’t invited or were they just upset that their fans won’t be able to see them tie the knot on TV? There is no word on whether or not they were invited to the premiere, but it appears that they were holding their own premiere party with former Bachelor Jason Mesnick and his wife, Molly.
Couldn’t make it to #TheBachelor red carpet but Lucia’s in Kirkland is just as good! Join us @jason_mesnick @MollyMesnick @ChrisRSiegfried — Desiree Hartsock (@DesHartsock) January 6, 2015

Des and Chris recently appeared on the Bachelor‘s Rose Bowl Parade Float on New Year’s Day to help promote Chris Soules’ season of The Bachelor, so it looks like they are still on good terms with Chris Harrison and the folks who produce the ABC reality show.

However, it was a big disappointment for fans when they did not appear at the premiere event with dozens of other Bachelor alumni on Monday night, including Andi Dorfman and Josh Murray, Marcus Grodd and Lucy Faddoul, Nikki Ferrell, Michelle Money, and a long list of men from Des’ season including the guy she almost picked, Brooks Forester.
Do you think ABC should televise Des Hartsock and Chris Siegfried’s wedding, and why do you think they missed the Bachelor Season Premiere red carpet event on Monday?
