Halle Berry’s Husband Assaults Airport Employee At LAX, Cops Stand By And Do Nothing [Video]
Halle Berry’s husband, actor Olivier Martinez, could be facing battery charges after an incident at LAX. According to reports, the Hollywood stars were being hounded by paparazzi when they were leaving the Tom Bradley International Terminal in the afternoon of January 4. It was then that Martinez allegedly shoved a contract airport employee with the empty baby car seat that he was carrying.
TMZ was able to obtain footage of the incident, which shows the family walking out of the terminal with Berry carrying their 1-year-old son, Maceo, Martinez carrying the car seat in question, and Berry’s 6-year-old daughter, Nahla, walking beside them.
The footage shows police officers helping the celebrity family with crowd control, as the paparazzi continued to take pictures. Martinez was seen motioning with the car seat before a noise can be heard. Just then, the camera pans to a shot of the airport employee sprawled on the floor. The family continued walking out of the terminal and into their SUV, where the airport employee followed them. The employee was then seen talking to the police and he was even overhead saying that he will press charges.
Another video obtained by TMZ shows that the employee was positioned behind a corner taking pictures of Berry and her family right before the incident.
LAX police released a statement saying, “A celebrity family leaving the Tom Bradley International terminal, required assistance from Los Angeles Airport Police after a crowd of photographers and a contract airport employee came too close to the family to take photos.”
The statement also said, “The male celebrity was carrying an empty baby car seat in his arms and reportedly shoved it against the contract airport employee causing him to fall backwards.”
The employee was treated at the scene, but was later taken to a local hospital for further care. Airport police took a battery report, and Berry and her family continued with their travel plans.
Both Berry and Martinez’s camps have yet to comment on the incident.
This is not the first time that Martinez has been involved in a public physical altercation. Back in April 2013, there was another incident at LAX where Berry had to restrain him to avoid a fight with paparazzi.
Back on Thanksgiving Day of 2012, Martinez also came to blows with Berry’s ex-husband (and Nahla’s dad), Gabriel Aubry, in the driveway of Berry’s home. Berry and Aubry were embroiled in a custody battle at the time.
