Cameron Diaz Marries Benji Madden At Secret In-Home Ceremony
Actress Cameron Diaz is officially off of the market and is no longer single!
Radar reports that Cameron Diaz and her fiancé, Benji Madden, got married to one another during a secret ceremony.
In an official statement given to People magazine, Cameron and her new husband were able to express their post-wedding thoughts and feelings about the big step that they have taken together.
“We couldn’t be happier to begin our new journey together surrounded by our closest family and friends.”
The ceremony was held inside of the couple’s home in Beverly Hills.
Even though it may seem that the wedding was a last-minute idea for Cameron and Benji, further reports prove otherwise. For instance, Us Weekly reported on Monday that the couple held a rehearsal on January 4 — the day before the actual wedding ceremony took place.
Back in 2010, Cameron Diaz stated in an interview that she would never want to have a big, extravagant wedding. In her own words, she explained the ideal scenario for her when it came to planning her own wedding in the future.
“The mystique and the romance of a big wedding are lost on me… I am not much of a planner. I would probably make the phone call 20 minutes before the bus leaves for the chapel and ask if anyone is available to come. That’s probably how my wedding is going to end up.”
That is not exactly how Cameron Diaz’s actual wedding played out in real life, but it was fairly close — especially when it came to size and timing.
Instead of having a big weekend filled with hundreds of guests, reports confirm that the Annie actress and her husband opted to have a relatively small ceremony with their closest friends and family members in attendance.
According to the report, numerous celebrities who are close friends of the couple were invited to witness the nuptials firsthand — including Josh and Joel Madden, Gwyneth Paltrow, Samantha Ronson, Drew Barrymore, and Reese Witherspoon.
Drew Barrymore and Nicole Richie were reportedly two of Cameron’s bridesmaids, along with her assistant (Jesse Lutz) and sister (Chimene).
Hours before the ceremony took place, party delivery trucks and an abundance of white flowers were delivered to the gated community home.
The report also confirms that Benji Madden’s nephew, Sparrow, was chosen to be the ring bearer during the wedding ceremony.
The 42-year-old actress was first introduced to the 35-year-old Good Charlotte band member by Nicole Richie, Benji’s 33-year-old sister-in-law. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden first started dating back in May, and their engagement was officially confirmed in December.
