John Legend and Chrissy Teigen Engaged

John Legend is engaged. Legend, the voice behind songs such as ‘Ordinary People,’ has got engaged to Chrissy Teigen after popping the question to the 26-year-old model in the Maldives. Legend’s rep Cindi Berger confirmed:

“John Legend and his girlfriend, model Chrissy Teigen, got engaged over the holidays while vacationing in the Maldives.”

Legend and Teigen have been in a relationship with for over four years, and spent the entire Christmas period with one another. After leaving the Maldives, the couple flew to Thailand to spend time with the Teigen’s parents and sister (Teigen is of Thai-Norwegian descent).

There’s no further information yet about the proposal or the wedding plans, but Twitter tells us Teigen intends to take Legend’s last name… which sadly isn’t ‘Legend’ (it’s Stephens, booo). The model retweeted the following from a fan…

“thats y celeb marriage nvr wrk out. U nt taking his lst name shows u think ur brand is more important than the marriage”

… and wrote the following in a reply to one inquiry:

“Not that I wouldn’t take his last name — just that it isn’t Legend.”

From the sounds of it, the couple are already practicing their domestic skills:

“Did another vacation cooking class! This one wasn’t quite as interactive – everything was already chopped and measured and chopping is pretty much our favorite thing ever. Pad Thai, Panang curry, and som tum, or papaya salad.”

Legend, 32, will perform at The Pearl at the Palms in Las Vegas on New Year’s Eve.
