‘The Walking Dead’ Spoilers: Has Another Show Given Away A Major Character Death?

The Walking Dead fans are still reeling from the death of Beth Greene (Emily Kinney) in the mid-season finale, but looking at casting lists in Hollywood, they may want to brace themselves for another imminent demise. Possible spoilers ahead, Walking Dead fans.

While The Walking Dead tries to keep its scripts under tight wraps, Syfy may have let the cat out of the bag with the announcement of their new scripted series, The Expanse. The cast list includes one Chad Coleman, who Walking Dead fans know as Tyreese. Since Tyreese is a major character with a lot of screen time, the announcement has fueled speculation that Tyreese will die to make way for Coleman to work on his new series as pointed out by Undead Walking.

Despite his intimidating physical presence, The Walking Dead‘s Tyreese has struggled this season with trying to maintain his humanity and turn away from violence. When pre-adolescent Lizzie (Brighton Sharbino) decided walkers were fun to play with and killing her own sister was a good idea so she’d come back zombified, Tyreese had to turn things over to Carol (Melissa McBride). Leave it to badass Carol to put down Lizzie “ol’ Yeller” style, bringing all new meaning to the phrase “look at the flowers.”

Sure, killing a child would be hard for anyone, and even Carol struggled with it, but Tyreese showed mercy to one of the cannibalistic baddies from Terminus. One has to wonder how anyone can survive the post-apocalyptic world of The Walking Dead with any kind of hesitation to kill someone like that. Is Tyreese’s reluctance to kill walkers and bad humans going to be his undoing?

After the release of the mid-season promo above, a few other rumors have made the rounds about what will happen when The Walking Dead returns February 8. In one scene of the clip, it appears Maggie (Lauren Cohan) gives Daryl (Norman Reedus) a look that could kill, but is she blaming Daryl for Beth’s death or is it just clever editing to mislead us?

CarterMatt posted that we can also expect Rick (Andrew Lincoln) to continue down his dark path when The Walking Dead returns, but on the bright side, Michonne (Danai Gurira) is rumored to step up into a bigger role and more screen time on the show, which should make many Walking Dead fans happy.

But as always, Walking Dead fans should brace themselves for more losses come February. Do you think Tyreese will be the next character to die on The Walking Dead in light of his new show?
