Leighton Meester Slammed By ‘Gossip Girl’ Fans When Asked About Reunion
Leighton Meester is a well-known actress who made a name for herself on Gossip Girl. Fans loved her character, Blair Waldorf, who was a rich high school student. Blair was more about cliches, fashion, and social order than developing genuine relationships. Meester did a great job playing this tough character, who ended up finding true love.
But Leighton Meester may have left Waldorf behind back when the show ended, because she isn’t exactly rushing to do a reunion show. This week, Meester did an interview about her current career, and of course, she was asked about reviving Gossip Girl. But when fans heard her answer, they were not pleased.
According to a new Hollywood Life report, Leighton Meester was asked whether Blair would return to New York to film with the other actors. There had been rumors that they were planning a Gossip Girl reunion because the show had been such a big success. But when Leighton was asked about the reunion, she simply replied with “nope.”
When fans heard Leighton Meester talk about her role on Gossip Girl, they were shocked that she was not rushing to return to the show. Many fans loved her on the show, and her lack of passion in fighting for a reunion was surprising. This answer came during an interview with Meester, where she also talked about feminism.
“Girl what? She was literally the ONLY one who gave a f*** after season 3. Even one of the writers in an interview mentioned how she gives 100%, regardless of the material,” one fan reveled after listening to the interview.
“She’s not very talented, but I like her. It was very obvious that she was over GG about halfway through the show,” another Gossip Girl fan added.
“Leighton is such a buzz kill. Gossip Girl fans love the show so much and are so loyal and she’s letting them all down,” a third person wrote after listening to the interview.
But Leighton Meester isn’t the only person who isn’t thrilled about a reunion. Leighton’s on-screen boyfriend Chuck Bass, played by Ed Westwick, has also said that a reunion isn’t in the cards.
“I think we enjoyed ourselves on what we did, but now everyone’s off doing their own thing. We’re all very happy for one another,” Ed has said about the highly popular show.
According to the Inquisitr, there had been rumors about a Gossip Girl movie earlier in 2014. But that sounds like this movie won’t happen.
