Happy New Year? Kimberly Guilfoyle Kisses Bob Beckel On The Lips [Video]
Kimberly Guilfoyle planted one right on the lips of Bob Beckel, her The Five co-host, at around midnight during the live New Year’s Eve coverage on Fox News.
As awkward if not horrifying as this sounds or looks, she actually had to do it twice because the first time they were off camera.
After the first smacker, she quipped, “I’m going to see if I can restart Bob’s heart.”
After the second one, she declared, “Fox News Channel, where’s my bonus?” as Kennedy, the former MTV VJ, pretended to throw up in disgust after witnessing the repeated smooching. Kim also joked that she had doubled up on “Z Pak,” which apparently is an anti-biotic.
For several episodes of The Five in the run-up to the New Year’s broadcast, Guilfoyle had been teasing the audience as to whether she would actually go through with it as she did on January 1, 2014 during the Fox Times Square coverage. With 65 percent of the audience apparently favoring the smooch this time around, Guilfoyle enthusiastically went for it. See embed below.
Guilfoyle, Kennedy, Beckel, Anna Koiman, and Jesse Watters anchored Fox News coverage of the festivities from atop the Knickerbocker Hotel near Times Square in New York City.
Ideological opposites, Guilfoyle and Beckel often vehemently spar about political issues as regular panelists on The Five, which perhaps makes the New Year’s kiss more notable. The highly rated show airs Monday through Friday at 5 p.m. Eastern on the Fox News Channel.
Guilfoyle, a former model, California prosecutor, and first lady of San Francisco (with ex-husband and former mayor Gavin Newsom, a Democrat who is now lieutenant governor of the state) generally takes a conservative position on most issues, while Beckel is a liberal Democrat and Obama cheerleader.
An official at the U.S. State Department in the Carter administration, Beckel’s main claim to fame is managing Walter Mondale’s presidential campaign to a 49-state loss to Ronald Reagan. Regular viewers of The Five have also noticed that Beckel, apparently playing the role as the show’s resident curmudgeon, often seems to come to the set wholly unprepared for each episode’s discussions, and tends to engage in incoherent ramblings to perhaps compensate. He has also cursed on the air from time to time as well as making racist and misogynistic statements, such as deeming The Bachelorette star Andi Dorfman a slut or commenting on Kimberly Guilfoyle’s legs. Beckel recently flipped the bird to Jesse Watters during a heated The Five exchange.

Before it even started, it clearly was a happy new year for Bob Beckel. Kimberly Guilfoyle — perhaps not so much.
Fox News finished 2014 as the most-watched cable news network (for the 13th year in a row) and in fourth place in primetime viewership for all of basic cable.
