‘GTA 5’ PC Requirements Revealed? Still No Plans For ‘Grand Theft Auto 5’ Mac Port
The GTA 5 PC requirements may have been revealed, and rumors claim it will take more processing power than either the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One can handle. This means that the PC port will be the definitive version.
Non-console gamers are hoping that the Grand Theft Auto 5 PC version will fare better than its predecessor. GTA 4 didn’t optimize well at all when Rockstar released it on the Windows platform.
According to the Rockstar website, the GTA 5 PC release date is quickly approaching on January 27, and it could be full of bugs much like the original release on the Xbox 360 and PS3. It took months for Rockstar to iron out all of the glitches and make GTA Online enjoyable and fair for all, and it may happen again on the PC.
At least Windows is getting a port, unlike Mac users, who have yet to even see an official GTA 4 release. Some hackers have revealed ways to play the game on Mac, but it should be done at your own risk. The game hasn’t been officially released on PC yet, and some claim to already have access to the GTA 5 PC download. If it isn’t the official release, it may be riddled with malware.
The rumored Grand Theft Auto 5 PC requirements from Game Debate are below.
Minimum:
- CPU – Core 2 Duo E8200 2.66GHz or Phenom II X2 545
- GPU – GeForce GT 530
- RAM – 4GB
- OS – Windows 7,8,8.1 64bit
- HDD Space – 20GB
Recommended:
- CPU – Core i5-2500T 2.3GHz or Phenom II X4 975
- GPU – GeForce GTX 480 or Radeon HD 6970
- RAM – 6GB
- OS – Windows 7,8,8.1 64bit
- HDD Space – 20GB
The Grand Theft Auto 5 PC port will reportedly use better textures, shading, and higher resolution than even the GTA 5 PS4 or Xbox One versions, so if your computer wasn’t purchased within the last year, it may not be powerful enough to support the game at its peak.

In less than a month, PC gamers will all be able to officially play out the story of Michael De Santa, Trevor Philips, and Franklin Clinton in the fictional Southern California city of San Andreas. It is unknown yet if you will be able to transfer your game saves or have to start over in the story mode and GTA Online.
Rockstar Games doesn’t appear to be putting any limits on their latest PC port of the infamous game series, and serious gamers probably wouldn’t want it any other way. The GTA 5 PC version hits the shelves this month.
